I’ve begun listening to my dogs barks, their patterns, levels and cadences to see if she and the dogs she’s barking with might be sending a message. I wonder if anyone has done a study about that?
I guess Garfield decided to give Jon a chance in reading “Ask a Dog” questions, but is starting to regret that decision, due to Jon’s inability to understand Dog language.
Reminds me of The Far Side cartoon where the excited professor goes out into the world to test his dog translation device. The dogs are all saying, “Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!”.

After all these years, Jon should have been able to interpret Odie’s bark to at least get whether he’s happy or sad.

When the translator needs a hand signer in a foreign language, I just turn over to the weather channel.

So at this point, Odie can lay claim to being the second-smartest being in the Arbuckle household.

People expect their pets to understand what they’re saying, but People don’t understand what their pets are saying. People are strange. (and arrogant)
