Start paving or lose your to privileges. Quit acting up, or I'm taking away the computer. Mall Knock it off, or say goodbye to your video games. If you don't behave, I'm going to break into a rousing medley of my favorite show tunes right here in the middle of the ball. Public humiliation: the mother of all parenting threats.
This worked great on my preteen daughter years ago. I’d hum along with the Muzak in stores & elevators not only because I liked the song being played, but also to annoy & embarrass her. It worked! She’d say “stop that Mom!” I didn’t stop until the music did! It’s okay for our kids to embarrass us, but they don’t like it when we return the “favor”!
