Figures lie and liars figure.

Well, 97% of the researchers these days do that too.

When I was 15 years old, I read the book “How to Lie With Statistics.” Since then I am a “birther” when it comes to numbers. I don’t trust them unless I know where they come from and who’s had their hands on them.

Percentages mean nothing. 99% of the people in party A support candidate A. Only 60 % of party B support candidate B. There are 100 people in party A and 1,000,000 in party B.

Read that almost 90% of drivers would rate their driving skills as above average. Made me feel good about my driving – if almost everyone else is above average, I must be too —right?
