When I was in college, we didn’t double-date, we “gang dated.” A whole group of us would go out for the evening and it didn’t matter if you had a partner or not. So we’d walk into a restaurant and they would ask, “Party of 4?” and we would respond, "No, we’re the vanguard for a party of 14. The rest are still parking their cars.
