actually, you don’t have to be the best math whiz there is in order to teach it. in fact, being really good at it might be a detriment.sometimes it’s hard not to skip a bunch of steps, and the student won’t be able to follow along. if both of you are Dummies, you can both learn the stuff together.it’s like Sherlock Holmes and Watson — Sherlock is 14 steps ahead of everybody, then says, “Elementary!” while Watson is still trying to figure out where he left his tea-bag. even when he’s explaining his process of deduction, he’s still going to skip 7 steps, and Watson still won’t have a clue or a proper cup of tea!of course, the problem here is, Mom will be spending all the time correcting Jojo’s English, and forget all about Math! Jojo will be able to spell the answer, but unable to compute it!

Oh, heck no. Just shell out the money for a tutor, or go over the lesson with him yourself. Just reading her reply got on my last nerve.

“than he is now” is implied by context, what kind of english teacher encourages run-on sentences? FAIL, YOU SUCK AT ENGLISH.

The Oxford comma is VERY useful in technical writing, where you absolutely need to leave little to the reader’s interpretation and imagination…
