I would say this cartoon describes the typical very rich person, with only a very few exceptions.

Silly poor people! Why don’t you just inherit more money?

Choosing to be Poor is about a lack of application of oneself. I grew up in the ghetto of a large city, figured out that I wouldn’t get jumped as much in High School if I applied myself and when to advanced classes. (I was the white minority.) Graduated with Honors, put myself through college (not a penny from my poor parents), and lived on 4-5 hours of sleep average to get academic scholarships for 5 years to get a BS in Accounting. Now, I still don’t make 6 figures, but I am no longer poor. Instead, I proven it can be done and I feel wealthy.

I took the Ghetto out of my life, and fought for what I have. So I agree with the Comic above. Being Poor IS INDEED a choice. Cowboy up or shut up. I did and therefore it can be done.

I remember the good ol’ days when this board was just for snarky, juvenile comments. Now it’s political, which of course just ruins everything. Both your parties stink. Now please move it to the political cartoons thread if you want to play another round of ‘No it’s your candidate that’s a poo poo head’. Some of us are trying to laugh here

I think she should have said, “Being flatulent is so much fun!” to get the conversation back to the level we are used to.
