She’s falling for his charms?
Dconskjk about 12 years ago
That’s so sweet. I’m all for being a modern and independent woman, but even I like a polite gentleman who’d do this

Next thing you know, Chrystal will be wearing a typical teen outfit and Knute will be cutting and styling his hair and they will be steadily dating. Lol A guy who treats a girl like a lady usually wins her heart.

only if he’s ten years old

Thankfully, Knute has nothing in common with Lucy of Peanuts.

She’s realizing it isn’t so bad being treated like a lady, despite what her women’s studies teacher may say.

A woman appreciates a man treating her withCourtesy and Respect. It speaks volumes.

I’m a woman, and I once held open a store-door for a man who had his hands full holding his baby. He smiled and said thanks. I told him chivalry wasn’t dead, it just changes hands now and then.

Could there possibly be some hope for Knute yet?! Crystal deserves a real gent….

They have been dating for a while now. Strange that this is a new thing.

my dear friend Caitlin hates it when I do that stuff for her – she always says, “i can open the door myself. You’re not my boyfriend or husband” – it’s just being polite. And it doesn’t need to stop for women, but don’t think I’d pull out a chair for a guy though – lol

Atta-boy, Knute. SHOW These “Liberated Gals” what a REAL Man is ALL About!
And Crystal? I can’t WAIT for YOU to reveal what Your Parents “taught” YOU…..,

“Old School”…it never goes out of style (and admitted or not, a Lady appreciates & notices it)
The Old Wolf about 12 years ago
Never been treated like a lady, Crystal? For the first time, you might even enjoy your sandwich.

Are we going to have to go through three weeks of other characters before we get back to the weenie world solution??
rugeirn about 12 years ago
It cuts both ways. A woman who treats a man with courtesy and respect is also going to improve both their lives. For that matter, that goes for anybody who does that for anybody.

Way to wiggle that tush, Crystal.

Know what I’m loving? That the whole first page of comments didn’t have one negative remark about today’s strip. Beautiful!

Holding a door or a chair for a woman no more implies she cannot do the same for herself than buying her a gift implies she can’t be a breadwinner and buy it herself. It is a show of respect for and interest in someone, nothing more or less. But in that spirit, I expect Crystal to hold a door for Knute by the end of this arc (and I don’t think Knute’s masculinity will be hurt by accepting).

i must be missing something obvious: Why is Knute apologizing? For looking down at her bottom? That’s what I’d have done, but I wouldn’t have apologized. In high school, though, I might have blushed.

That would complete his transformation from zero to hero for me.…..Well put, Leviticus!
Angelalex242 about 12 years ago
No longer is Knute…just a dope…now he’s become Sir Knute the chivalrous! Meanwhile, Crystal looks so shocked her ‘nice guy’ is actually…eeegads! Gadzooks!…actually NICE!

Most excellent. Like this story arc.
RH3 about 12 years ago
No ambition? Knute’s ambition is to be a cartoonist. We don’t see how much work he puts into training himslef for that.

I know, right? Much less the Luann-Quill arc that petered out.

..men open doors for other men, too.First man to the door open just long enough for the second man to grab it(it is an art form),then usually the second man then holds open the second door….it’s a time saver..but it’s done all the time.“Thanks-yep/No problem” is usually the social exchange

“wow evans sure down with teens today”-Poor little troll doesn’t understand that just because some act one way, doesn’t mean all have to act that way.
