Wow there sure seems to be a lot of folks who believe that nervous around women = gay. If that were the case I would guess only about 1-5% of men would be straight, especially in high school.

The thing NO ONE HERE has mentioned YET that caught my attention is the line,* "His last text said “We need to talk” I think he wants to end it."* What the hell kind of logic is that?!?! How can WANTING to talk logically lead to certainty that he wants to end it? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++It is the above sort of illogic that drives me crazy about communication and relationships. People (both men and women, although with my wife and I, I tend to think it is mostly my wife :) ) far too often try to read into comments what is not necessarily there. Relationships work best when people take what they say at FACE VALUE, instead of trying to figure out hidden meanings. Luann has, IMHO, dropped the ball by not calling Quill.

There have been generations of women taught that it is rude to be direct and assertive. It was a real 1950s “thing.”

I’ve been married twenty years, and believe me, if I want my husband to know something, I just tell him.

The reality of not knowing something is much worse than actually finding out. She should be proactive and make herself available to talk to him. If he wants to end it, what was there really to end. As she stated, she wasn’t really sure that it even was.

Girls ain’t that hard to figure out if you just look at their faces when they’re talking and listen to what they’re saying.

If we guys either do what you don’t want or don’t do what you do want, at least we’re consistent.-And then throw in the sarcasm in which you tell us what you want but don’t really mean it and assume we are smart enough to realize you are being sarcastic so we do what you asked and then you’re mad at us again…..-If we weren’t so inherently loveable, I don’t know why you’d even bother with us.

although its not relating to this thread, thanks to Ann Eifel, we got stung by a cashier trying to pad our restaurant bill. My wife got suspicious when the customer before us questioned her bill and found she was over charged also. Manager apologized, but is it worth it to piss off your customers for a few dollars? Life imitating art….thanks Greg.

I only WISH I’d been able to do my PE class as this kind of workout (such as I do now) instead of having no choice about softball, volleyball etc (even swimming in the middle of a school day is horrid). My last visit to HS was on 50th reunion and the running track was lovely and padded (no idea if the girls grt to use it tho’). Any non-team activity would be fine for me (never got along with most other girls).

yeah, ballet dancers do tend to be limber… btw, another good example of the age-old comics mantra of “The ugly guy gets the girl” (If only it worked that way in real life…then I’d bet all set)

Actually, there were several great French victories over the centuries, for instance like when “Norman” French became the masters over Enland, not to mention the fact that it took a European coalition to stop Napoleon from winning battle after battle; as with any Empire, the French have had their day, but, to say they never won a victory is simply inaccurate.
