Transcript:
Luann: "Your career is important to you, I get that. But aren't I AS important?"
Quill: "No"
Quill: "You're MORE important"
Luann: "Doesn't seem like it"
Quill: "Hey, c'mere"
Luann: "Uh, do you ever have customers?"
Quill: "Luckily, no"
Boy! Lu could’ve had that kiss and could have done it without all the drama! But then what would we have done all week? – Her middle name should have been "Drama"… things sure don’t come her way, without going through some of it, first!… – Gettin’ down to the center of everything……She brought up different issues, but at the heart of it all?… Just a bit of reassurance… he made a small statement, but at the heart of it all?…just a guy who was doing his thing… – Valuable lesson: hopefully these two have learned to be better communicators, and better listeners… the answers they wanted to hear were all there… if only they took the time….
“(Get) Right Back To Where We Started From”“Words Get In The Way”“You Got Me Going In Circles”“Making Love Out Of Nothing At All”“Some Things Don’t Come Easy”“Sealed With A Kiss”or “Why Didn’t You Just Say So?”
The customers (before Luann showed up) must’ve come, told other people on the street about Cafe TJ and gone home to write their online reviews for Cafe TJ.
Café TJ… “The world’s best food… come for the- (record needle scratch)Oh, who am I kidding?…” – the Wifetime movie of the week: ‘A Kiss The Hard Way’… with Glenn Almos-Close and Willie Shatter….“Check your local ’TV Lied for time and channel!…” – Casablanca II: It’s the Pitts’ …"In a world where two lips meet, a lot can feel right, but go oh so horribly wrong! … C II: It’s The Pitts!…starring George Knight as Quill, and Annette Dragonlady, and lil’ Debbie in a breakout role as ‘Passing Cameo’… the story of how a kiss goes through fire, an earthquake and a Milli Vanilli concert, just to be able to touch… hurry and see it now! As soon as you find a good copy on your local thrft store shelf…a 412 studios production…. – and by….Plain, vanilla yogurt.
If there is still casting for the live-action Luann movie, I just ran across theperfect Bernice, right here! …. – Oh, and a bonus showing of “Dragonnet” that she did…. it was very fresh and most importantly, funny!… and no over-acting, on top of it…..
So is Luann going to let Quill go work on the holiday play for Mrs. Manezone, or not? (Note that I didn’t phrase that “Will he go or won’t he?”, but “Will she let him go or won’t she?”, since it’s clear who’s in charge here.)
IF T. J. is so great at marketing (as he was at showing up Miss Eye Full at the restaurant), why isn’t he working hard to get business going, and if he is so passionate about cooking, W.T.F. is he?
If a girl character said a boy was more important than her career there would be hell to pay. I was hoping it would end up with Luann realizing how selfishly she was behaving.
Quill is a very patient guy to put up with Luann’s shenanigans, but she needs to develop some self-esteem of her own or she’ll continue to go ballistic every time there’s a (perceived) problem. No relationship should be this high-maintenance or NO ONE will have a good time.
Did you even see the clip I linked?… In terms of character appearance and overall fit for Bernice, that girl there has it., while Anne just looks it…somewhat…. just not as close as the first one….
Yeah, but we’ve got two votes… My wife and I was looking at the clip, this morning… I’m sure that you won’t be able to persuade her to change her vote, Lol!…
“412” is the “charge” (one of them) that St. George was bringing the Dragon in, on the “St. George and the Dragonnet” bit by Stan Freberg….the “412” code that the Dragon broke was for “overacting”…. since some of us have been saying that Lu and Quill have been melodramatic, it seemed to fit in that “sponsor”…
“Shut Up and Kiss Me” by Mary Chapin Carpenter,1994 – “Shut Up and Kiss Me” by Orianthi song (Australian “modern day” rock guitarist, she can play, and has played with some big names, even for a young age….electric guitar tones, especially!) – “Shut Up & Kiss Me” (Reece Mastin song) (2012)
Though I have to say that that one has different elements of the “Bernices throughout time”, going on… the straight hair of ,85 Bernice, the ’confident ’tude of present Benice, and the glasses from the “Lisa Loeb” Bernice of the 90s…..
Since it’s close enough to Christmas for Luann and Quill to be discussing holiday plans, perhaps it’s close enough for us to add “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” to today’s Top Ten.
I am so sorry to hear that, and you are right. We need to treasure our time with our loved ones. It is short. I will always be glad for the time I had with my parents.
@JPuzzleWhizThat was rough. losing your Dad at 11. What happened. Where did you go afterward. Where did you do. Were you still with your Mom. How did you cope. All this at 11. Wow. I really missed my Dad when he passed.
That was the sons that the MISL champion Blast used in the 80s… – I was wondering… was prepared for a “world of hurt”… was hoping they could pull of such a disctinction!…. Somebody call Don Shula, let him down easy, LOL!!!!…
Thanks Greg, for taking Luann, the least likeable character of her OWN STRIP and making her even more unlikeable, then providing the copout ending. I guess I’ll just wait for the next Brad and Toni arc.

So why are you working in a place that has no customers? How are you getting paid?

All that fuss over nothing.

Well…I can’t fault Quill’s wisdom in defusing this. “If all else fails, shut up and kiss her. Works every time.”
Swalb%515 almost 11 years ago
Well, THAT changed her mind. That’s good.

Maybe he should be a playwright instead of an actor? He comes up with excellent material.

How crazy if it were “Too Late For Love" playing…talk about your ‘anti-climatic!’…

Ah. Soooooo, Mr. Perfect.
You’ve a Life Lesson in Dealing with the “Fairer Sex”.
When “They” CORNER You, SURRENDER.
And YOU Will be Doing THAT a LOT with THIS Babe.
It also HELPS to BUY Them something PAINFULLY Expensive.
Don’t Worry. You’ll get USED to it. Or Else.
But Really, Q-Ball? I’d be MORE Worried that Luann Appears to be MORE Concerned with Your Lack of a Clientele, Than Your “Kiss”.

Thank you – Thank you – Thank you!!
