Tiffany is a better actress than I thought. I actually believed her innocent routine.

I did mention yesterday that the next card to come out of her purse would be the Screen Actor’s Guild card…

Its obviously…… Aaron Hill. He moved back from Hawaii and has been secretly living with Tiffany. He has fallen on hard times and is stealing TVs and other electronics to survive. Luann is gonna be crushed when she finds out!

I still think she is innocent of stealing a TV. Remember she is not the only main or recurring character to lie. Bernice lied to the campus cop and her superior about not finding anything in the lounge, and by the way Dez knows that she lied. But she did not take the TV, and in fact reported it as she was supposed to do. I do think Tiffany has someone in her room, which would be hard to explain. I think there are two possibilities with an adjunct. First it is Piro. If it is she either spent the break with him in her dorm room, in which case I doubt she is innocent in the biblical way anymore, and that would be an interesting step for this strip. In more levels than one. The adjunct for Piro is that maybe she let him crash there feeling sorry for him, and other than that it was innocent. I doubt that though. He probably has the keycard so he can come and go, including the lounge. The other is that it could be Gunther, but I highly doubt it. WIth Piro though does he even have a phone? And if it is him, could he have have taken the keycard and stole the TV? I doubt that very much actually. The other adjunct is that it could be someone else entirely. Hmmm, who might that be?

I know I am probably going out on a limb for some, but I doubt the theft of the TV has anything directly to do with Tiffany. Still there is quite a bit of mystery left in this “boring” (not) arc.

@Luann1212, if you know of anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 who doesn’t have a mobile phone, I’d be surprised to know. And this coming from a guy who calls himself Troglodyte! :)

Tiff did Piro a favor but he being clueless could not remember to put back the TV before anyone noticed. But since Tiff has 6, why isn’t one in her dorm room?

Well Piro may be asleep and not get the message. We’ll have to see about that..

The plot thickens.

My two cents: Piro has been staying at Tiff’s place over break, and brought the TV into her room to watch it and just hasn’t put it back yet. Stealing without the intent to steal. And if not Piro, I feel that will be the solution anyway. Someone “borrowed” the TV over break and hasn’t returned it yet.

Wow! This is interesting! Who’s she texting and will the person get it in time? Staying tuned!

Eyebrows… Telling the whole story… With half the words…  She sure is twisting in the wind! And trying to look like she didn’t have to untwist her knots… But it’s clear now that she knows someone is in her room… That’s contrary to what she expressed during questioning… Whatever’s happening, for Tiffs sake, it’d better be that she’s throwing a surprise party for the officer and dorm director…

Everybody’s forgetting the one person who’d be most likely in the room of a “sorta-wealthy, ladder climbing, circle hopping butterfly socialite hopeful” like Tiffany….. Yes, it’s…. The Butler. The Butler did it.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if they open her door and find that someone has been stashing multiple TVs and assorted other stolen stuff in her room while she has been gone on break?

BTW, I can’t believe the cop isn’t wise to something like that and not watching Tiff while they travel to the room. I’d have her take the lead (or at leas walk behind her) to make sure she doesn’t do something like that.

Increasingly difficult to rescue the “innocent explanation” theory.

I love the second panel and Tiffany’s ‘relieved’ (NOT) smile on her face. I bet she thought she’s just get a new key card, then end of story – no room inspection.

My money’s on Piro crashing there over break, and he’ll get the text and bolt – just in time. (No…there’s no HDTV black market operation going on … but Piro may have been borrowing it). Also, I’ll bet while no one will be in the room, there will be some clue/evidence that the room has been recently occupied.

@MISTERDANTES: Wow. You’re not writing mystery stories. You’re writing science fiction…

I think she just has someone living in the room against the rules and this has nothing to do with the television. I have read a lot of mystery books and the culprit is never the obvious suspect.

I am confused by all the posters who figure that the person in Tiffany’s room would be Gunther. Where would that conclusion come from? Although Gunther did show attraction to Tiffany, he was still trying to get Bernice to go out with him, and buy into his future plan of marrying someone ‘book smart’ like him. Tiffany does not fit into the future plan of his. And Gunther doesn’t need a place to crash, either, removing that motive. Only Piro has been known to need places to stay. That’s why Piro is a more logical guess than Gunther…

So Piro appears to be homeless, but he can afford a laptop and a Smart Phone? Phones are expensive every month.

This is ‘Luann.’ I’m sure Tiffany just let Piro crash there while she was at her dad’s, and he borrowed the tv for entertainment. Just because Tiff has 6 TVs doesn’t mean any of them are in her dorm room. She needs that space for makeup storage.

@LUANAPHILE: It could be a very startling development to find a woman in Tiffany’s room, but I think it’s not very likely. We haven’t seen any instances of her being physically attracted to women, and she rarely shows an interest in having women friends.

@LOCAKE: There are a bunch of programs that provide reconditioned older phones and laptops to low income people and families, in order to make sure they can call 911 if they need help, and because many schools require kids (homeless or not) to do their homework online. It’s a lot harder to find affordable apartments or affordable rental homes for minimum wage workers, homeless vets, unemployed folks recently released from mental hospitals, kids ‘aging out’ of foster care and generally homeless folks.

Hmmm… A mysterious man has three girls covering for him. Stay tuned tomorrow for another episode of Piro’s Angels…

From my perspective, I think a lot of folks are jumping the gun in regards to Tiffany’s potential duplicity. While it is possible that most of the previous commenters are correct and Tiffany did lie about the card-key, I think this is just as possible:

Tiffany may be very sincerely telling the truth about the card-key, and may very well have been surprised that the card-key was missing from her purse. The text to whomever is in her room…. that simply could be there is someone there that is not supposed to be there.

So, who might be in her room? The sky is the limit, but we are going to assume it is Piro. If not him, then a lesser probability is Gunther. BUT what if it is neither of them…. what it if happened to be some super-creepy person (unlikely), or what if it was someone we had not seen in a long time….. maybe Quill? ( Hah, as an aside, I was just going to suggest Quill could be a super-creepy person (in jest), but I probably should not (even though technically I did)).

A television legend who could turn the world with her smile…she might just make it into Heaven, after all.

@JPUZZLEWHIZ: The loss of Mary Tyler Moore is kind of a continuation of what happened last year, with the loss of so many musicians, actors and others who had given a lot of us some reasons to smile and temporarily forget our own daily woes. In particular, Mary Tyler Moore had to live with diabetes, so she was a brave example of how to continue with life even with medical problems. I know I’ll miss her …

MTM was truly a gifted actor. Surprised to read that she fought alcoholism for many years before beating it. (I do wish she hadn’t done the face lifts. ) But on the whole a great model for womanhood in her shows.

Does anyone else think it’s strange that the “comment” area is at the very bottom of all the comments? It took me FOREVER just to find this.

Gotta admit, she’s a good actress. She had quite a few people here convinced!

What! Tiffany can text one handed? And not make a spelling error? That is a talent! Now maybe she can get expelled and this strip can get on with its life.

so tomorrow we see the backside of someone leaving and going down the hall just as the Ms Lopez and the campus security guy are approaching.

Piro: too obvious, and Greg doesn’t do obvious. Only reason would be Tiffany let him use her room while she was off skiing. My guess would be Crystal and Knute, who secretly eloped and want to hide out. Also, if Tiff had Gunther on a romantic visit, the last thing they would want is a TV. Whatever, it will be “G” rated.

but Tiff says she has 6 TV’s, so there’s no reason to even “borrow” another.

PREDICTION: The whole Tiffany / keycard / Piro? thing will prove to be completely separate from the missing TV. Just a co-winky-dink, tho an unfortunate one that may unmask Tiff and Bernice breaking the rules to cover their tracks.

Uh-oh. Tiff’s big heart is getting her into trouble, if ? doesn’t get out of her room in time! Who? Piro?

I think he’s the best bet….

All this being baseless speculation, I do wait in anticipation for the revelation.

Does this mean we’ll FINALLY learn about Piro, and why he needs to squat around the college?
