Piro is quite the ladies’ man.

@TEMPLO S.U.D.: Nah. Probably just needs his backpack. And a place to crash. He has no idea that Tiffany and Bernice are fighting over him. How symbolic that the two of them are having a tug-of-war over the backpack; if they could, they’d each grab one of Piro’s arms and pull. Lucky for him it’s just the backpack that will probably be torn apart by this weird battle…

CAREFUL, Ladies! With all that pulling and tugging, You’re liable to RIP that backpack open and Gaw only Knows, What will come spilling out….,

If it was guns it would be a “Mexican Standoff”. With a backpack it’s just silly. I said it a while back & I’ll say it again: Bernice is nuts.

Mojo, Piro has mojo. A magical ability to have two women staunchly fighting over him. I don’t get the Bernice haters here, she is no more or less mojoed (new word) than Tiffany. Both of them have “skin in the game” in terms of being unpleasant. The long stark nature of this battle, building up over a long time before this battle has been percolating behind the scenes for a long time. Will this be the end when the arc ends, or just another stage, Oh the comic strip drama! Be patient on the arc I say. This is brilliant. People are sitting on their computers or phones arguing over getting bored over something they have been arguing over being bored for the last few weeks. So lets just see where this leads, because no on knows but the creators.

Luann needs to show up and tell Bernice to STOP BEING SUCH AN IDIOT!

The way I look at it, in the last panel, the backpack is a visual metaphor for Piro.

My prediction for tomorrow is that they will rip the backpack in half and the missing television will go flying out of the backpack to the floor, causing the screen to break.

It’s odd to see Tiffany as the sane one. Bernice is way outside the scope of her job. Have to say though – this plot is pretty imaginative. The TV ??

Uh-oh. Catfight alert!

Bernice does seem to be taking the Tiff/Piro ‘Relationship’ personally.

Am I the only one tired of this arc? How is the stolen TV incident and Piro related? Or are they NOT? This is dragging….and Piro is a loser….unless there is more to him than meets the eye? (But I think there is LESS).

Kudos to the inventor of ripstop nylon.

I for one would love to see Bernice dating Piro. That would be an entertaining story.

Is Piro a student or just a bum?

Bernice needs to be stripped from being a RA. She has a “God” complex from it. It is obvious she doesn’t have the intelligence nor demeanor to handle situations. She has a personal interest in this Piro thing however I doubt if she does anything but attempt to be a bully on any issue that arises.

They will both find out that Piro is gay.

I’m thinking that Tiff wants to keep Bern from hearing the truth: That star-head loser told Tiff that he’s sick of having Bernice hanging around him, all the time.

Bernice should just turn Tiff and Piro in and move on. Do her duty.

Many people seem not to like this arc but it is realistic and I personally find it interesting compared to some others. Though we still need to see what happens with Leslie and Prudence which should be good.

I still hope that when Piro shows up he has a significant other with him. I’d like to see the looks on Tiff’s and Bernice’s faces. Why are they both attracted to Piro? Maybe Evans was influenced by Jack Nicholson’s comments about great female characters he created as a writer in “As Good as it Gets”. “First, I take away all accountability and reasoning”. Something to that effect.

Bernice needs to be committed over her obsession.

They both pull it and then out pops his stash

Diego (Piro) needs to be clear to Sandra (Bernice) how he really isn’t fooling around with Dakota (Tiffany) while Winifred (Luann) stands idly by Melchior (Gunther).

See? anybody can do it. And it’s really dumb (stupid)!

Bernice is really acting like a psycho girlfriend even though she hasn’t ever had a date with him. Tiffany on the other hand appears to be acting like a caring friend.

Maybe it’s that backpack from ‘Dora the Explorer’ (Piro borrowed it, of course):

“Yum-yum-yum-yum-yum! Delicioso—OWWWWW!!! Stop it you two! That HURTS!!!”

Many people her with short attention spans keep forgetting that since this is EPISODIC nowadays, that a situation that in reality would take maybe a maximum of 5 minutes can be depicted over a week, partly due to the author, and partly due to the space allotted in 3-4 panels. So get OVER IT!

Why does something tell me that Piro is a relative of Tiffany’s? Maybe a long lost brother, or the result of a fling one of her parents had?

Bernice may wanna consider the fact TIFF has Piro’s number, not her. And why.

For me, Bernice’s attitude is just getting more and more over-the-top. Her anger and intensity is making her more and more annoying to me. She has no right or say, IMO, to “get” Tiffany’s phone nor Piro’s backpack. As RA, she should simply work on her legitimate duties which are to report the television as missing (which she has), and if need be report that Tiffany appears to have let a person use her key-card. But, I would suggest that a better approach for Bernice is to instead of being a grumpy annoyance, she should really try to talk with Tiffany about what has gone on and find out why. But…. sadly, that does not seem to be in Bernice’s character at the moment. IMO, a good RA does her required duties, and also serves as a “listening ear” of sorts for other dorm residents. This would be the right time for Bernice to try to really listen and try to hear about what is happening instead of just demanding things based upon her limited understanding.

I hope that Greg is going to continue this arc with Piro actually showing up and we get some deeper insight into his character. I worry though, because Greg may instead choose to keep Piro “mysterious” and nebulous, but at this point, I hope Greg’s decision is to be more revealing about Piro.

@BRDSHTT AND SCHRODINGER’S DOG: My guess about what will fall out of the backpack when it’s ripped apart by Bernice and Tiffany is a Veteran’s Health ID Card.

This is just getting silly. Lets go back to some good, wholehearted stories.

I feel like they will pull too hard and rip open the back pack. I’m not sure what will fall out, but I believe they will learn a lot more about Piro at that time. Possibly illeagal drugs, possibly just clothes to show he’s homeless, possibly fake ID, possibly a badge to show he’s an undercover cop. Who knows?

This is getting weird. How many college students these days fight over a boy they barely know? Are the Evanses taking Bern into a Shakespearean descent into madness? Will this ever become a story again, or will it be another of those long drawn-out cases of boring kids talking about their feelings?

Leave it, Bernice. She is so overwrought, demanding, and emotional about this, something is going to backfire. Or she is going to explode (before the backpack straps maybe).

Love the different ways their eyes are showing anger and determination in the last panel. Evans excels at this. When the plot is moving relatively slowly, it is a good time to appreciate his talent.

So thus far Bernice has lied to her boss and campus security, covered up evidence, abused her posistion, assaulted Tiffany (sorry her grabbing does count), attempted to get personal information by abusing her power and she’s supposed to be the good guy?

ALERT! Bernice has longstanding & deep boys issues. Other females’ boys issues. See the May 23, 2007 strip for example.

Piro will show up – and say that he has also stayed in Bern’s room. Time for Bern to take her hissyfit back to her room and slowly unwind. Actually, Dez would be the best counselor around for Bern.

Bernice, he doesn’t like or want you!! Geez, get a grip!! Stalking now?

I hope this story wraps up tomorrow. I can’t take another week of Bernice. I think Tiff should let Bernice throw herself at Piro and make a complete fool of herself. Piro will reject Bernice, of course, then hopefully Bernice will slink off, never to be seen or heard again.

Bernice would be this bossy and jealous of any man dumb enough to date her. He wouldn’t have any privacy on his phone or in his life.

Didn’t Bernice used to be pretty level headed? Now she’s so desperate and pathetic that I just want this story to be over.

If the Evanses are trying to make Bernice loathesome, mission accomplished!

I officially like Tiffany as a person better than Bernice.How did this happen?!?!

@AIRMAN: Definitely too small for TV. Imagination works overtime in trying to figure what could be in that small backpack. Besides Veterans Health ID Card, I thought of small flashlight (useful if living rough), reusable water bottle (same thing), packs of beef jerky, first aid kit, key to a storage locker where he keeps whatever used to be in wherever he lived before his car, money clip with a lot of $100 bills…

And to think I used to like Bernice.

Piro’s backpack being like Pandora’s box has to be the missing element in this arc or Greg wouldn’t go through such a long setup with Tiffany protecting him. It might contain writing materials for a book he’s writing, or it might be remnants of a tragic past which is why Tiffany is not afraid of him.

I hope something interesting falls out of that pack tomorrow.

When are these two going to grow up

There was a time when I like Bernice as a character. I want to (still) but it’s becoming hard. I can’ t stand her pointing finger and compulsive bossy rule obsessed behavior. Mooney did not hire her to be a private detective and she has no right to pry into other peoples’ relationships the way she is doing now. Something has to come to a head and I’m hoping that Dez can straighten her out.

A letdown…

As Tiff has gotten less annoying I think Bernice has got ever more annoying, especially since the college dorm stuff started.
