She’s really starting to act a tease.

Les is a scoundrel, but his only fault with Pru is that he is ignorant of her orientation. However, I think she’s actually the one showing a bit of stupidity, not realizing that he’s sweet on her, after the pricey necklace and now this. She’s setting herself up for trouble. In the past, she’s seemed so people-wise. But her blind spot seems to be in dealing with amorous guys.

Pru is going through the same tunnel… She seems to have unwittingly entered, as soon as she hit the door of the Fuse. But her reception in the tunnel is a bit fuzzy. In fact, they both seem to be picking up static and fuzzy signals….

Pru is a theater person who came to help with the first production because of Quill. Quill is gone, why isn’t she? She’s boarding with Frank and Nancy and hauling bottles around in some way, way, way off Broadway bistro. She also assumes (wrongly) that everyone knows her status after all these months…….Apparently, this is also not true. There is a big crash coming and Les will be going down in flames. Will he be simply crestfallen, or will he turn mean? His shady track record indicates the latter. Enter Ox? Enter Mr. Gray? Enter an army of lesbians? Naw, this is a family strip.

It will be very interesting to see how this character will handle his impending disappointment.

Next, on Clueless Days Of Our Lives…

I hate to think what’ll happen once he finds out, because you know he eventually will.

Maybe she’ll “turn” for him . . . like in “Chasing Amy”? But that didn’t work out too well in the end, did it? Alas!

Maybe he’s hoping for the ending of “Dodgeball”. “I’m not a lesbian. You’re not? No, I’m bisexual”

You’d think Pru would be smart enough to let Les know she’s gay since it’s obvious he wants to start something with her.

Pru can’t possibly be that dense.

An inept, probably homophobic guy asks a hot girl out not knowing she is gay. She accepts not knowing he is attracted to her. Is this a comic strip or a cheesy Rom-Com?

Pru is unbelievably clueless, isn’t she? How could she not realize that she was just asked for a date?

two people that are naive in different ways. hope he wont pick her up off the floor to punch her. as usual, we gotta wait until Saturday to see what happens.

The humanizing of Les continues. Even though this is, of course, destined for failure, it is nice to see Greg painting a more human side to Les. I still am left to ponder what Greg will do with Les’ character when he eventually figures out that Pru is not oriented towards him. Will he act out violently? Will he sulk and be surly? Will he actually grow and develop even further?

I am unfortunately feeling that it is likely that Les will quickly revert back to his old ways, and may seek some sort of revenge. Hopefully I am mistaken.

Where’s the stolen TV?

This is a well trodden comic arc that exploits basic misunderstandings that get compounded by the participants’ stubborn preconceptions. If you think back, the Evanses have done this several times before. Do you find it funny or annoying? The unpredictability of Les makes it uncomfortable.

We are now well into two months without Luann appearing in the strip named after her. We’re well on the way to my prediction that it would be three months after Toni’s wedding before Luann appears again.

On the Pru front… I’m reminded of the ending to “Some Like It Hot” — “I can’t marry you; I’m a man!”

I only remember Les as angry bully without any big back story about him. Other than related to mister Gray.

Regarding Luann, sometimes the main character gets overshadowed by co star.(Wally over the Beave) for example

All these comments about Pru not having a clue, hmmmm. Hey – sounds like a good idea for a show! Yeah! We’ll call it ”Pru’s Clues!! Just how many clues will it take for Pru to get Les’ real intent?!! Stay tuned!

Completely clueless. Both of them. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

A lot of men would have a big enough ego to think they could convert a lesbian. I think Les will be like that. He won’t get angry, just keep on trying. And Pru will be so sweet to him when she lets him down that he won’t take it as a sharp rejection.

He thinks she is hetero, she thinks he is a nice guy. Both are so wrong.

@LOCAKE: I’ve met guys who believe in this ‘conversion’ stuff, some of whom are seriously religious and think the people will be punished if they don’t convert, but most just don’t understand. There really isn’t such a thing as ‘converting’ someone who is completely lesbian, or a gay man. (Possibly someone who is bisexual can decide to concentrate their desires on one or the other, instead of both; that I don’t know.) I grew up with gay and lesbian cousins and friends who had to hide their true nature for fear of bullying or rejection by parents, and I hope we are reaching a time when it can be recognized that people are ‘born that way’, as the song says, and you can no more ‘convert’ them than you can change someone else’s skin color. I live not too far from the Pulse nightclub, where 49 people were killed by someone who thought they were all bad people (either due to being gay, or not being a member of a radical Islamic group). We need to start recognizing that life is shorter than anyone thinks, and love should be recognized as love.

I think there is at least a 50% chance that Pru knows of Les’s problems and history and sees an opportunity, in befriending him (even if he misinterprets) , to draw him out of his previous behavior and attitudes.. This would not be the 1st time that we are misinterpreting her, i.e. in believing that she is totally naïve (which she may not be).

I almost feel sorry for Les…

I’m starting to also think that this is a case where two people totally misinterpret one another and I am afraid for the outcome.

I know where this story is going… Les is a lesbian woman trapped in a man’s body. After many months of hormone therapy and a minor surgery, she and Pru will be very happy together.

I’ve been reading this book about “relaxing” but I can never finish it because I keep falling asleep.
