Airman: Best comment yesterday with (Tiff has) “a neglectful father and an abusive artist.” To the other guy who asked, why so many comments here? Good question. But considering that we get microseconds of narrative each day, there’s likely far more entertainment in the comments than the comic!
So, off of stapler duty, and back on ‘snot patrol’, just like in her first days after getting hired…

Isn’t it funny how these two are forever locked in a “battle of eternal struggle”, but always seem to need each other? You can’t have one, without the other!
Tiffany is the kind of character that has a ingrained belief, perhaps related to an estranged family situation, although we are not too sure if that is really the case, or there is just not enough info., who believes the world should revolve around her, but the world has this stubborn tendency to revolve around the Sun, and we just happen to be passengers on it. Even in Luannverse. In the long run she mostly loses the little battles against Luann, but if she would stop fighting and just be a better version of herself, which GE has hinted at, she might not always be a loser (please not the Benito definition if anyone cares). She has potential but if it ever gets unlocked is the question with no clear answer. Musing, musing, musing.
Help? Tiffany? Oh, come now. Tiffany doesn’t really want Jack. She just doesn’t want Luann to have him. It’s part of a rivalry that goes back to childhood.
Don’t SCOFF, People. With Tiff on board, all little girls will get free make-overs. While all the little boys will get to STARE at Tiff with Awe and Bewilderment.
Then, when They get Home, the Lads will Ask Their Dads Uncomfortable Questions about the "Fairer Sex……. "
I don’t get what Luann’s “job” here is. I don’t get what Tiffany’s role is. I seem to remember it’s community service for committing a low-level financial crime some years back. I don’t see how Luann is making ANY money to support her educational expenses in this job. I don’t see her sweating over student loans, I don’t see her applying for scholarships or grants…. Basically I think that if this strip is in any way meant to portray the lives of college-aged young adults, it fails — truly fails — in practically every dimension.
Tiff will probably be one the kids will come to to blow their nose like in a previous strip, gross Tiff out with a snotty nose. Here are three strips in sequential order showing Tiffany wanting to quit Kidz 1st because she hates tears, snot, and temper tantrums:
Maybe some little kid will touch Tiffany. I remember in the Lila cartoons – Lila volunteered in a hospital (to catch a doctor). She met an outspoken little girl who read Lila like a book – and Lila wound up adopting her.
It is interesting how Luann has developed a sangfroid attitude toward Tiff, and appears to be getting revenge in the cleverest way possible. Those looks yesterday and today say a lot. It would be nice if she kept it up.
I love how Luann and the principal seem to trade facial expressions in the last two panels. I think Greg and Patrick McDonnell, creator of Mutts, are probably the best cartoonists practicing today (or at least, published in my local newspaper) when it comes to economically portraying subtleties of expression like that.
@SACTOSYLVIA: I agree with you about how the principal and Luann are trading expressions in the last two panels, and I think too many posters here are assuming that Luann is ‘getting revenge’ and celebrating it, and what. I don’t get why people are so convinced of that, or that a so-called cat fight will happen. What would Luann need revenge for? Because Tiffphony appropriated a bouquet meant for Luann, and then, when she read the card, automatically decided it meant that Jack had broken up with Luann? You can’t ‘break up’ when you aren’t really together to begin with; this was just a ‘go with the flow’ casual social thing for Luann. And who needs revenge over something as small as reading a card that isn’t Tiffphony’s business? I don’t think Luann is ‘getting revenge’; I think she’s just feeling some relief that Tiffphony won’t be pretending to be sympathetic to poor ole Luann…

Luann knows how much Tiffany “loves” to play with the kids………and now she’s also the center of attention. only Tiffany is not too happy about it.

Sending Tiffany back into a classroom is definitely not putting Kids First! She’s as fond of kids as that grumpy guy who drives a school bus.

Why does Tiffany even keep this job if she hates it so much? There’s got to be something else she can do that she’d enjoy more.

Thinking back to Luann’s “look” (at Tiffany), a word of caution: Exacting revenge would make Luann as bad as Tiffany!

Tiffany has become schizophrenic. A couple of months ago, she was a sympathetic character; now she’s back to being horrible.
