Mission accomplished… in a weird kind of way.

Brad and Toni each gave a gift to each other in their own way. Aw, what a great first anniversary!

I notice that while T.J. says, “He does” in response, Brad is quiet on the subject matter. If he is wise he will stay quiet.

Interesting how TJ weaves through the commentary. Guilty of what was positive. Innocent of what was percieved of him to be negative. After Toni said she always wanted one of those, a fourth panel would have shown TJ saying , “I mean guilty!, Yeah, I meant guilty…!”

For once, a clean Saturday ending. No cliffhanger.

Just remember that foot spa rhymes with chutzpah. And what does that mean? Absolutely nothing.

I agree with WizardGoat, a clean Saturday ending, although I add a dose of sugar to it, it was sweet. And please get off TJ, he is a wonderful, caring friend. The progress that he has made being around the DeGroots over the years is amazing. Hey it might even rub off on Les…ah Les, I also hope we get to the Ann, Les, Luann, Tara, Dez, and possibly Bernice arc plus Uncle Mr. Gray, and Gunther? And Tiffany? I always keep saying I think they will be all connected.

No “thank you, TJ!” or “wow, Toni – amazing”? Brad is being a bit selfish today.

Flash Gordon, you have obviously never spent 16 hours a day on your feet, in work shoes. I have….and I had one of those, was the highlight of my day before bed!!

Way to go Brad! Can’t strike out every time…

If all the crew from the fire station is there to celebrate, what happens if an alarm sounds? Obviously they did not bring the truck or else Brad would have seen and recognized it.

She’s a good wife…

We have one. It’s great when you’re using it. It’s a PITA to store, fill, clean…

Never believe a wife (or mother, or girlfriend) when she says let’s keep our/my (anniversary, birthday, whatever) simple. You’ll wish you hadn’t (eventually)!

I suspect Flash Gordon would appreciate a Rump Spaaah! at the end of his working day.

I remember when Toni first came on the scene and Brad met her. I thought, “This can’t end well.” Well, it ended well.

Toni’s so close to perfect that she’s like a slightly younger female me,

We are (of course) missing Brad’s tone of voice when he reminds Toni about her saying to keep it simple. Some commentators are hearing something critical when it must be pleased and humorous teasing. Brad’s an extrovert – he loves it.

That’s an almost Shannon-like expression on Toni’s face!

Well – it leads to a foot rub.Which leads to an ankle rub.Which leads to a calf rub.etc etc etcGreat idea.

That Toni is the perfect woman!

It seems Toni lived a fairly isolated life before she met Brad. The aunt who raised her was self-absorbed, and then there was what’s-his-name, the abuser – who probably also kept her isolated. Toni gathered this group together in a nod to Brad, who seems to enjoy big celebrations, but some part of her is probably also celebrating the fact that her own life is now richer because her marriage brought these people into it.

Toni is a wonderful girl. All men should be so lucky. And men should treat their women the same way!

Lazarus Long always said, “Rub her feet.”One of the best investments I ever made was learning how to give a good therapeutic massage.

ohhh…magically, she happens to want it! It’s the perfect gift Brad! LOL dude!

I can only hope that Toni is as creative and aggressive in private as she for social events.

Better than showing up empty handed, even if it’s to your own party. Safe for now Brad, her look is genuine.

Where do I mail the anniversary card? I need an address.

Well, Bwad hits the nail. Though I still think TJ was right to suggest perfume.

Seriously, someone else pointed out that firefighters are on their feet a LOT – and they are RIGHT!!! And NOT just for fighting fires. That’s why they work (I think usually a four day extended shift – then a 3 day break). Why? It works for them, provides a form of consistency, AND allays job-burnout! The ‘Foot Spaaah’ is a perfect gift for Toni – plus she WILL ‘reward’ Brad!! ;) Also, some ‘Lazy Boy’ chair time is a reasonable perk for fire fighters!!

Everything’s coming up Toni! The party is a success! She loves her improbable gift!

I wondered, initially, why Jonas and Shannon were not there. But Toni is doing this for Brad; she wants him to enjoy the celebration and probably she’s considered that Brad doesn’t care for Jonas. Toni is really thoughtful. In both the wedding and now the 1st anniversary, she sacrifices her wishes for the sake of Brad’s.

1.)If Brad has half a brain he’ll:1). Fake it for her sake 2) NEVER tell anyone about his disappointment. 3) Beat the he’ll out of T.J. The first chance he gets.

Nice, simple wrap to mini-love story…..unless, this is the point where Brad wakes up in a panic and realizes that it was just a dream.

Just goes to show that even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while!
