My dog doesn’t chew things anymore, but my cats will raid my desk if I leave the drawers open.

This strip really gets a lot of mileage out of how much Luann failed to train her dog properly. Still, at least it’s amusing (and true to life).Though why does this dog have human teeth?

I get my dog rope chews and flying discs from the dollar store. He still has dollar ropes from when he was a puppy.

More accurately: Tissue left on nightstand: 2 cents. Yes, I looked it up.

Unfortunately, Puddles also destroyed Lu’s “fun toy” on the nightstand.

A “Bone!” What’s Wrong with with giving a poor dog a Bone?

You know as in “Knick-Knack,Paddy-Whack, Give a Dog a……?”

Worked for Old Mother Hubbard. Sorta.

Back in “MY” day, dogs use to Love bones and they were readily available.

Might I suggest using the one In Old Smiley’s right Leg, in this Season of Giving?

    Jest Kiddin’…….,

My parrot is the same way, but toys are always $15 to $50! He gets much more enjoyment from a simple cardboard box to chew up. His second favourite is a clean tissue.

….A long stand in the lines at Okaymart™, with only 2 and 1/2 cashiers, full parking, and lots of traffic, for a fresh new jumbo pack of Boog’s™ Tissues? Priceless…

Never ceases! What we think stimulates a dog’s interest, is nothing, when compared to what actually catches a dog’s attention.

Now we know why Luann leaves her junk lying around…

Really, though, those other toys (except for the ball) need 2 in order to make it fun…tissue and clothes and shoes and linens can be torn, wrinkled, give resistance, dragged (think “Wild Kingdom”), be enough to ‘climb through and get lost’ in…pretty much an interactive doggy dream!

    -

Good thing dogs don’t know about SnapTwit or FaceTube or VineChat or Fallout Station or Play Box or Intend-o X or any of those other thingys the kids use nowadays! Then again, maybe I’ll get my pillows and blankets back, if I can just teach them to hold stuff in their paws…

Well there are a fair amount of comments on Puddles, as I thought there would be, but so many trolls! Not too surprising I guess, human nature is a trip to say the least. Being a Sunday foible, the Luann pet foible is not only not surprising, but dare I say cute, and very appropriate it for Puddles who always acts as kind of an ironically funny foil for whatever else is happening with Luann and usually Bernice. Somebody trolled his name? People have all kinds of names for dogs, so Puddles in a strip that portrays a young woman, and her universe is perfectly fine. My anti-troll message for today.

    Haha! Very true (unfortunately).

Has Puddles ever had his own feature before… where he is the only living character drawn? This could be a first! He appears to “be movin’ on up!”

    Marketing is very clever.

The dogs are oblivious to the fact that the toss disc looks like a pepperoni pizza.

But humans will usually buy the pizza disc, rather than a plain one or some other design.

Puddles is a figment of Greg’s imagination and can have any kind of comic strip teeth Greg chooses to draw. Just be glad they’re not like those John McPherson uses in Close To Home.
