With the taskinator I knew she would be back.

Luann getting a hi-tech study aid is like getting chrome hubcaps for a ‘73 Pinto. Still, it’s a lesson every subpar student needs to learn for themselves: all the accessories in the world won’t compensate for a lack of intelligence and/or motivation. In her case, Luann doesn’t need a school organizer, she needs self-discipline.

She has school on Sunday?

Sure it’s the “Taskinator” that needs batteries, Luann?

I’m sorry Luann but all the electronics in the world want help you, you need to learn for yourself the good old fashioned way.

AKA The Trapper Keeper Ultra Keeper Futura S 2000.

A true Taskinator would have an internal battery that could be charged with an adaptor and the entire outer skin would be comprised of highly efficient solar cells that could supply some charge to the unit.

So is she living at home or on campus nowadays?

Can be used at Sunday Services. It will shut off automatically when a prayer or sermon begins.

Not very realistic… how many teens even get up on a Sunday?

I would start each school year with new stuff ready to go. Then school would start and then I would space out.

Since when does the Amazon equivalent deliver on Saturday?

My brother and I would often beg our mom to let us stay home from school. One day – Mom said “If you go to school TODAY, you can stay home TOMORROW”. My brother and I started celebrating until .. we discovered that TODAY was Friday and TOMORROW was Saturday. Parents can be so cruel.

Nancy was hoping it would remind Lu to clean her room on Sundays. Fat chance I guess.

Exactly the reason I still have my landline as a backup with a POTS (plain old telephone set). Only thing that ever works during blackouts and blizzards. Batteries not needed.

Within a week, Luann won’t use the Taskinator any more. It will add to the junk pile in her room.

I am trying to get used to using the calendar feature in my Straight Talk android phone, which I grudgingly purchased when we upgraded our security system in our home, but besides the technical problems, I have to remember TO USE it! Even with post-it notes, and date books I am not the greatest in keeping track of time and dates. I did okay when I practiced law (you don’t want to have a federal judge mad at you for messing up his call because you forgot you were supposed to be there, trust me), but since retirement from that profession, even though I know teach at community college, I still have problems with keeping up with times and dates. I sympathize with and can relate with our young protagonist in this. You got to remember to remember, and footloose people have a problem with that.

I’ve had a Taskinator for years. It’s called a smart phone.

Sorry, I’m not reading 80+ comments to see if that’s already been posted.

I wish today’s strip would mean that we shall see Luann going to school again anytime soon. Other than the strips where Luann got to know Tara as a bio lab partner, we’ve seen nothing of Luann’s academic endeavors in what seems like ages now. Wasn’t the whole point of moving the strip from high school to (community) college to let us see this environment? Instead, it’s just Luann at the Fuse, Luann “mentoring” Fay (or babysitting Shannon or the Kids First brood), and Luann hanging out with Bernice. College seems to be the very least of Luann’s activities. An organizer dedicated to that part of her life seems unnecessary, given the strip’s nearly ignoring it.

This a proper ho-hum cartoon, perfectly suited for a lazy Sunday. No further action required. Come home, Tiffany, all is forgiven.

The irony is that in making “physical notes and supplies organizers” and “digital notes and schedulers”, someone has to do all the work of fashioning and making available such things- and someone has to do all the work involved in using/utilizing these things…just so someone could say: “Aah!….Life is simple, now!”.

All those things are old fashioned and out of date now. Now all those things are done by your phone.

Don’t tell Apple about this. They’ll steal it and market it as being the first to do it.

Come with the TASKINATOR, “…if you want to LIVE!!” (and then, after some years, you’ll ultimately die …)

The Taskinator should have listed buying new batteries as the first thing on her schedule.
