Raindrops? and the stars are still out? must be an extremely local weather front.

Ok, that is either a late night bird or the rain I predicted last week. Funny, no clouds in background like last week. Step back Jim Cantore.

RAIN CHECK! Mother Nature took pity on Luann and decided to intervene. Or will they wait out the rain to see if it is just a sprinkle and they could get back outside? After all the mountains in desert settings (the landscape of the Southwest) are not known for heavy rainfall or downpours. IF they don’t slightly damp ground, that is.

I think they will be spending the night inside the car (unless they decide to do something ridiculous for comic effect).

To be fair, with the lack of clouds I thought it was a squirrel or some other creature peeing on her. I live in both Portland, OR and the UK though, so realise that no clouds doesn’t mean it’s not going to rain anytime soon…

I think if downpours they be in the car but if just rain drops they hang outside.

Actually if you look hard in the second panel, you can make out storm clouds. So their camp out is about to be rained out. But i suspect Dez will still see a silver lining. And there’s nothing wrong with an optimistic frame of mind. I’m usually optimistic.And i can foresee dirty comments about the raindrop on luann’s face. haha

It is all Dez’ fault. If she only would not have done that rain dance earlier…

I wouldn’t have thought “rain” because the starry skies are out in force. But, as stated, it could be a very “local” thunder cloud… :)

Owl poop…

Obviously you’ve never been in Florida, where the sun can be shining brightly while raining so hard you can barely see across the street.

Rain…the inseparable, faithful companion of the campers. I find it pleasant inside a tent, hearing the sound of falling drops is nice. But so, in the open air… Too bad. Right now that the three had finally started having fun. Fortunately, there is always the car.

The stars are out and the sky is clear. Must have been a bird with good aim.

I wouldn’t be surprised that when they leave, whether it’s now to escape the possible rain shower, or, in the morning, that they’ll run out of gas.

So intersting thing, if they are at an actual camp ground, wouldn’t there be other campers around them? If they are just in a random camping spot. Do they know what the flood plains are like? So many unanswered questions.

I always like watching Luann cross her eyes…they aren’t really crossed here, just staring at the raindrop from the right but close enough and still cute.

FINALLY!! … A bright spot in the night!! … But, where is the RAIN coming from?!

… Oh, right! Has to be all the Word Clouds … Gotta be from Bernice’s ones! :)

So, do they see if it’s a quick local thing that won’t nuke the ground to much, bag it, or sleep in the car. I suspect we’re headed for home. Thursday with rain leaves 2 days to either get back or get back and see Jack and Nil then cut over to a new arc (or let us see Luann telling the boys about the trip).

OK! I’ll shout it, since 1212 hasn’t chimed in yet.

Hilarity is about to ensue! ;o)

Of course they didn’t bother to check the weather forecast beforehand or set up any notifications for severe weather alerts. I guess these girls didn’t realize that their phones can do more than just take selfies or record condescending “observations” about their friends.

Somehow this should all end with the three in a restaurant feeding their face with hamburgers – through a window we see lightning lighting up pouring rain.

Technically, she just got hit on the nose by a droplet out of a local meteor shower. Lesson: keep yer eye on the sky!

@kenhense: I like the hamburger idea… hey, it’s lunch time and now I’m starving…

Could be worse, could be raining….was kinda predictable. Question now is, will this trend of bad luck continue with the car not start up for some reason?

It’s not nice to trust Mother Nature, wet, weary, wilderness women.

The weather changed that fast during my first two attempts to reach the summit of Humphreys Peak. I finally made it to the summit on my third try.

For once I hope it’s rain.

From my experiences in the southwest there could be a passing flash storm which would clear up soon after. Maybe they will wait it out in the car and then set up their bags. Yes, all the released plant fragrances will make the air smell wonderful.

Ugh, Greg is pulling out every Murphy’s Law occurrence that he can. I have little doubt that it is going to storm and the car battery will be dead… and their cell phones will be dead… and they won’t be at the actual address that they told people, so nobody will be looking for them. So, they’ll start walking and then take a shortcut, which won’t actually be a shortcut and then get completely lost. Or perhaps this latest arc will mercifully come to an end. I just hate it when Greg make the kids exceptionally stupid/incompetent at times. Yes, they all may be naive, but making Gunther and the girls so dumb at times is so annoying.
