Don’t give up so easily. Get some good financial advice. Sacrifices will be made, but I think its doable; just talk to a financial advisor and run the numbers. Better yet, talk to Mister Grey. Bet he knows where you can get a “loan”.

This really hammers home what an utter piece of garbage this girl’s father is. Why is she always, ALWAYS being babysat by these two? They’re obviously busy with other things, so why was she left with them in the first place?

See? Shanon is not an occasional visitor hence the room built for her was not warranted as some of you in here claim. She is there frequently. She is a part-time occupant and a family member so it was perfectly warranted. And it seems B & T didn’t deplete their nest egg – merely spent a good amount of it. They will rebuild it in no time. Horner House has gained a better market value so that benefits everyone so that’s money well spent.

Be thankful for what you have, assess what you can do with that, go forward with gratitude. Shannon is happy, and TJ enjoys being with this family unit. That is what it is, a family unit. it gives us a good status update on Brad and Toni and their world. I bet we are about to check-in on Gunther and Bets next.

Time for a new INTERESTING arc on Monday. Maybe Bets and Gunther encounter Tiffany and Les in the Gulag. Or maybe Tiffany and Les are trying to decide how to respond to a wedding invitation (Ann & Tom). Or maybe Tara needs a new place to live and tries to tempt Luann into a roommate situation. Or maybe Fay is hired to watch Shannon and Fay is constantly on her mobile device chasing Axel…

Shannon’s lucky. Much luckier than say, Tiffany. Because unlike Tiffany, the World is doing it’s gosh darnest to SHIELD what a louse Shann’s “dad” truly IS. Some “folks” say that she’ll grow up and realize that one day. I don’t think so. Unless, an “Ann Eiffel” suddenly enters “daddy’s life.” An “Ann Eiffel” girlfriend that NOBODY, especially Shannon, likes. For all We currently know, such a woman has already entered Jonah’s life and all this talk of an “acting career” is B-S. It might end up being an interesting parallel development: Shannon HATING dad’s new live-in G/F and insisting on staying with B&T, ALL the time. Hmmmmm….,

I have a cousin who is a wonderful women, slept on the couch for. The first part of her life. She still complains about not having a bedroom when she was younger. The love and care that Brad and Tony have giving Sharon is not spoiling her, but giving her an opportunity to grow to have a normal life. Also, we live in a country where we have the right to criticize other people’s comments. As adults though we should not be petty or political

Could it be that Jonah realizes his only talent and chance to be successful is in the entertainment industry, a tough thing to do, so he is trying to make it so he can provide for Shannon? If he were to quit and start a different path at a low paying job could he provide any better right now?

OH COME ON PEOPLE !!! Who says TWO firefighters, no kids, no mortgage, and certainly no car payments, plus a roommate, can’t afford a median priced home ? Sure some fire departments, somewhere are still volunteer, but not in any major metropolitan area, … BUT REALLY HOW MANY FIREFIGHTERS ARE UNDERPAID ? In 2016, a firefighter in Oakland California with his base and overtime combined earned $281,112.00; plus an additional benefit package of $65,854 for a “TOTAL” compensation of $346,966. That’s not chump change…and with two firefighters not being able to finance a $650 K house just strains credibility. EVEN FOR A CARTOON.

Since Mom and Dad own the current house, I imagine they are losing rent because it’s rented to their son and daughter in law. Would be cheaper for them to rent at full price and ‘loan’ the extra money into the new house as a gift.

I think Toni and Brad should seek full custody of Shannon. Her so-called Dad is more like an uncle, not a father in any sense of the word. Toni and Brad are Shannon’s real Mom and Dad. A time will come and Shannon will realize that, and Jonah will get the fruit of what he sowed. (I can just see a future Dear Abby letter from Shannon asking if she really owes Jonah anything!) I think that Toni and Brad would probably be awarded full custody and guardianship since Jonah has, effectively, abandoned her.

Parenting in Pitts. Shannon’s mom abandoned her to Jonah who all but abandons her to Toni and Brad and TJ. Tiffany’s mother abandoned Tiff to her dad who ships her out to a college dorm, and moves in his girlfriend(s). Gunther’s father disappears and abandons his mom and his son, now known as “the Gun.” Leslie’s dad is said to have been a cop, killed in the line of duty. Bernice apparently has parents: never seen. She does have a half brother who came in and went away again. And, Toni. Did I not hear that her parents were killed in a car accident.

When I first became interested in buying a house, I went to one of those free real estate seminars, thinking I would learn all about the process. It was one of those “Rah Rah” meetings. Everyone was yelling, “OPM! OPM!”, which I later found out means “Other People’s Money.” It actually made me ill when the leader of the seminar started talking about how to take advantage of other people to get what we wanted. That’s what’s wrong with the world. I left pretty quickly.

I’m almost 65 years old and live in Colorado. I’ve been hearing all my life from all kinds of people in all kinds of places that “California should slide into the ocean.” If people from California got all stirred up every time somebody said that (including here in the comic), they wouldn’t have time to do anything else! In one ear and out the other is a good policy, IMHO. I have friends and family in California, and have no desire whatsoever to see anything happen to the people or the state!

Brad and Toni can save more money for their house by having TJ as a roommate. Here he is babysitting Shannon because Brad and Toni weren’t available to watch her themselves

Brad and Toni should adopt Shannon (even though she has love for her father Jonah) and raise her themselves and pay for her maintenance with their own money.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!! Toni and Brad live in San Diego CA. From the San Diego Union Tribune: “In 2014 a firefighter made $210,000 in OVERTIME ALONE”. So either Toni and Brad have no idea of their own financial worth, or they’re stupid, or they’re just too lazy to work. In any case with some financial advise, plus working a little longer and racking up some OT instead of, apparently, just hanging out, that $650K house IS totally doable.
