It’s the old “Worth more dead” thing. And we know how to monetize anything now.

Interesting how it usually isn’t the people doing the work that make the most money.

They don’t miss you until you’re gone.

He was not alone. Producing art is not the same as making furniture or building a house. Takes time for an artist who his ahead of is time to be recognized and appreciated. Add to that the attitude of many earlier rulers and potentates who loved having an artist on call, but treated them more like a sideshow, as part of the royal menagerie. Nowadays we are quicker to recognize talents and support them. Still not easy of recognition for some but better than generations before.

The show was fantastic.

He also lost an ear!

My favorite Doctor Who episode was the one with Van Gogh

He needed a better agent—a good agent can take a baseball player that hits .235 and gets him millions a year.

Van Gogh is my favorite artist. It’s so sad he never had recognition during his lifetime.
