So I guess this means that Newt wins in November.

It seems like the election cycle is not two, four or six years as intended by the “founding fathers”, but has become endless campaigning and fundraising. In trying to avoid “factionalism” with direct election of political leaders, they did not foresee all of the consequences.

A Newt is not a dragon. If it were we would have to say “happy Newt Year”. I couldn’t do that.

I should change Wikipedia for that. But I already got one reprimand from them…is it possible to get banned from the website?

It’s actually the Water Dragon, which means that whoever you elect is going to …. on you. Well, I’m sure you can figure it out.

Saw Warren Buffett on TV this morning celebrating the Chinese New Year by playing his ukulele and singing “I’ve Been Working on a Railroad” … I guess he is investing in railroads and wanted … ? Well … who knows what he wanted.

Now that I read all, I see that Goldenroya already answered. And every election year is not a year of the Dragon, but every year of the Dragon would be an election year. But kooks predicting the end of the world have no limit (we had those last year as well).

It will drag on. Unfortunately half of Americans are below average…and have been misled by the slavery class.And will vote in favor of the reeps’ puppet-masters’ candidates.

Next election cycle I wish the republicans would at least run mammals for president……………I’m good with furry things..not so good with scaly things… like snakes, lizards, skinks and newts…way too creepy for me.

Doonesbury today had the pundit asking the candidates what their favorite color is. Instead of listening to the wing nuts in the media and instead of paying any attention at all to the nutty ads and phone calls, we should all just READ the candidates bio’s in Wiki. it would save a whole lot of campaign financing waste AND produce much more informed voters.

The election cycle has become endless because:

1. the media need something to report on, and election contests do better than real work by those in office.

2. so much money is required that the candidates, whether in office or not, feel that they have to be constantly raising money, and that puts them in election mode.

3. There are no limits on what can be spent — free speech, remember — or when it can be spent, so they will act preemptively to keep others from running.

Every election I look at the elected person and say “Well it could have been worse.” And by golly the very next election.

It is.

Money as free speech is properly called bribery.
