Kate: I think I'd like to be a chef when I grow up. Joe: Hey, I like that, Kate! What would you like to do, Danae? Danae: Umm. I'd like to make a lot of money without doing any actual work. Joe: Oh, like a motivational speaker, eh? *heh-heh* Danae: Yes! I really don't know what that is, but yes!! Joe: *sigh* When am I going to learn? Kate: I hear that a lot around her.

You could be a political pundit – they are about as honest to their cause as a lawyer is to the law.

On another note…motivational speaking requires a degree of charisma and an ability to appeal to others’ sense of optimism – two qualities sorely lacking in Danae.

Motivational speaker? She’d have to memorize speeches and sell books – not Diane. She is destined for greatness as a reality TV contestant.

Cripes. I see ads in our nearest big-city paper for motivational seminars, and the list of celebrities speaking usually is impressive: retired politicians, generals, CEOs, etc. I think what they have to say probably hasn’t changed much since Norman Vincent Peale’s time. .A lot of them are selling books, too. And the big amounts of money they make as fees couldn’t be a reason, could it? .We went through a Zig Ziglar course, and the cliches had us climbing the walls after a few hours. “Sqatting to rise,” indeed. Here’s the advice of the best but most underpaid motivational speaker I ever had (my father): “Get off your lazy butt and do something!”.Danae is a cele-BRAT-y, so she might make it.

“Motivational speakers are usually people who have already succeeded in life through actual work.” Yeah, people like George W. Bush, who’s been featured multiple times on the “Get Motivated!”™®©(all rights reserve) circuit. Wrecking one economy and two countries was a whole lot of work, wasn’t it? Or Robert Schuller, who has hosted said motivational event, leading with the command to “banish the word ‘impossible’ from your vocabulary!” He built the world’s largest all-glass cathedral… which promptly went bankrupt. He probably should have banished the word “bankrupt” from his vocabulary.

being a politician is perfect for Danae. lots of lying, stealing, ripping off others, doing the Elites’ dirty work. gosh what a perfect job for a scumbag, evil lying sob. Danae would be right a home among Congress and the Supremes. stealing and ripping the rest of us off and getting paid to do it. increasing taxes on ohters and not yourself, health insurance fit for kings, insider trading, doing unto other so they can’t do unto you. Danae is a natural for the Criminal Class that runs America

Yesterday, I told a poor joke in bad taste. I cannot take it back, it’s on the internet. I hope if you were offended, that you will forgive me. Just chalk it up to an old man telling anold joke without forethought. I am very sorry.

A student of mine a couple of years ago told me that he wanted to be a motivational speaker. He didn’t say what he wanted to motivate people to do, just that he wanted to be a motivational speaker. He didn’t say that he wanted to get good at something and then become a motivational speaker, he just wanted to be a motivational speaker. I guess it’s kind of like wanting to be a celebrity without going through the trouble of doing something that is worth celebrating.
