Thank you for this panel. What a wonderful group is Tails of Joy, and what a wonderful lady is Elayne Boosler for founding it! Again, sir, thank you for today’s panel!
Well, not all of them are sanity enablers. My Siamese is an INsanity enabler. He drives me absolutely crazy! .I haven’t been able to have a Christmas tree or any decorations in several years. Nothing in the house is safe, as long as any door into a room is left open or ajar. He can go through a whole roll of toilet tissue as soon as it’s placed on the spindle. Gotta’ keep him outta’ the bathrooms!
I’m lucky to be semi retired and able to spend time with my cirtters, from the new guinea chicks to the rabbits to the llamas, I love ‘em all. I have one cat who will walk out to the mailbox with me, but then insists on being carried back. Other times she’ll walk the top rail of the fence all the way out and back. She’s a character. But then they all are. Best of all, they’re all adopted, rescued, or found. I’m going to plug our group here, so if you don’t want to see it, don’t read the next line: www.southeastllamarescue.org
This is one of my favorite strips ever. My cat is my lifeline to sanity. As an aspie I get animals better than humans. So it really works out well for the both of us. And I’m being dead serious that if I ever see someone abusing an animal, no matter who, I won’t kill them but make them wish I would.
I am a proud servant to my two adopted cats, now 11 years old. The male, named after Louis Prima is an extremely confident feline. The female is named after Sarah Vaughn is much more subdued, but is still a “female” through and through.
Wifey never had a dog, but always wanted one. 20 years ago, we rescued one, and are now on our 2nd rescue dog. Sweetest dogs I have ever owned (and I have owned quite a few).
My rescue kitty is even now sleeping with her head on my left foot; a gesture that’s at once, endearing and a bit weird as I’ve just come in from a hot morning’s yardwork, and I’ve just gotten my shoes off.Waiter!More cheese that smells like men’s feet!
One thing everyone here might like to know, if you haven’t gone Elayne’s site yet, is that ALL your donation, EVERY cent of it, goes to the care of rescue animals. No middlemen taking a cut. So I’m asking all of my peeps to go there and make a donation for any amount. Thanks to all of you.
In 2002….I adopted a 2 year old basset…..he started acting strange around me almost 3 years later…sniffing around my mouth etc. I went for a check up and diagnosed as diabetic. Fast forward to 2011 , the basset gone, saw a pic in the local paper….5 month old border collie to be adopted or put down…(Shelter Special) She adopted me…..now everything is good again!
SheMc: Have you never had a sandwich or other quick meal while standing over the sink? Easily prepared menu, crumbs instantly disposed of, no plates to wash, etc. No production number, just a quick bite to eat. With no one to impress, a favorite of singles. We even do it occasionally after 57 years of marriage.
I work from home and like to torture my boyfriend by sending him pictures of how cute our cats are being while he’s at his office. They wait at the door for him when he comes home so his first act is to pet them and relax for a moment.

In my case, that would have to be “Tailfeathers of Joy”.

I remember her description of a restaurant that makes singles really feel at home: No tables, just rows of sinks facing the wall.

Yes, I don’t know any crazy people who have pets, and our dog is so soothing, always waking us up at night, destroying furniture, the joy….

Cute fuzzy wuzzies. Don’t let those who are against animals in captivity find out. They don’t understand that pets are family.

So true. Our last three dogs have been “rescues,” and every pet we’ve ever had has brought more joy into our family than we could ever have hoped.
