I know of several online “news services” that sell their “intelligence and analysis” to gullible readers for exorbitant subscription fees.

These sites cater to both the Left and the Right. Although the alt-right sites tend to have carry more fake news stories, they by no means have a monopoly on BS ! Some of the progressive blogs are just as bad.

Many of the business oriented news sites are simply rehashes and repostings of existing news stories and opinions – digested and dumbed down for their corporate readers.

Plagiarism and posting without giving proper attribution are par for the course.

But : still hear people say: " Well, it was on Facebook and YouTube, so it must be true ! "

Or worse: " It was on Fox News and they always give you the real facts ! "

WaPo published an article that did not name any sites. One of their sources listed both fake sites & the more legitimate sites that linked to thse stories, such as Drudge. WaPo has added an editor’s note that some sites were complaining about being on that list (that wasn’t published by WaPo) & that some sites had been taken off that list.
