And now the pc with AI, which is going to make interesting and not always beneficial changes in the way we do things. I’m kinda glad I am unlikely to see the end result as I already dislike the medical profession’s dependence on pc’s for managing my health. Intrusive, unsafe, and irritating.
“This just in to the Panda News Desk…trump causing chaos in America’s government, by collapsing the budget needed to run the government, and he’s not even sworn in. On the bright side, it appears, speaker mikey johnson is headed for the trash bin. So long pal. This has been a Panda Newsflash. We return you now, to your comic strip, already in progress.”
I have been critical of the media since high school when I was taught how to read a newspaper (remember them). Then cable news came along and I became increasingly cynical.
For a while, I took refuge in online news services where I could read stories from different sources all in the same place.
So one day last week, I wanted to read about the school shooting in Wisconsin. There were hundreds of articles on the news server. NOT A SINGLE ONE on the shooting. But 75% of the article headlines had the word, “TRUMP” in their headlines: some positive, some negative.
The media has an obsession to the point of possession by this man.
I was able to find out that there is still a war going on in the Ukraine and that Syria is missing a dictator.
Today’s headlines are about how Elon Musk is shutting down the government – by the way, what is Musk’s OFFICAL position in the current Congress and when was he elected to it?
The first ‘news’ guy was a lone sentry on a hilltop shouting out when he saw anything. The ‘content delivery’ happened later when the original shouted ‘news’ was processed by lines of guys further down in the village who wrapped info in their interpretations of what each sighting meant before passing it on.
My local paper has the weakest editorial page in its history AND the weakest comics page in its history. If only there were some kind of internet thingy…..

The Airplane movie showed that a breaking news story is coming in when the anchor is handed a new set of drumsticks.
