That would have been my parents, calling the neighbours who bought an expensive purebreed dog only to tie him up to his doghouse in the back yard, where he stood and barked day and night. I still don’t understand people who acquire dogs only to leave them tethered 24/7.
This is why it would have been so tragic had Linus broken Snoopy’s arm yesterday. The world would have missed “It Was a Dark and Stormy Night” and other classic works.
Ah. And this is why my parents decided to move when I started college. I did my studying and typing at the kitchen table in our little apartment. Far into the night. They must have needed some sleep. It was nice for my sister and I to get our own rooms. And I even got a desk!

When the story is flowing, you just keep typing.

I’d rather have someone typing late at night than some of the obnoxious late-night parties that go on in my neighborhood!

What thin walls the neighbors’ house has in order to hear a typewriter.

The night doesn’t even look dark and stormy.

Don’t fall off the doghouse, Snoop. You’ll bite your tongue off. My brother is the same way. He can’t do anything without his tongue protruding.

This scene could do with some typecasting… like throwing that machine over the fence.

The title panel reminds me of a popular yuletide film:

How can you stop Snoopy from typing his stories? Would you ask GOD to stop creating the UNIVERSE?!
Yeah, that’s an apt comparison.

What kind of parents let their kids answer the phone and go outside in the middle of the night?

Sometimes when inspiration hits, you have to get it out or else you’ll forget it. Also this wouldn’t be a problem with today’s technology.
