Marcie’s in big trouble.

Marcie is less smart by association!

The saying “you can’t help others if you don’t help yourself” is a common phrase used to emphasize the importance of self-care and taking care of one’s own needs before being able to effectively help others.

The proverbial plot thickens…

Marcie was so focused getting Peppermint Patty to do the book report, she forgot she had to do it too.

It’s not like Patty really did a book report either. If I were her teacher I’d make her read a real book and report on it or get a failing grade.

Many such cases.

And thus did Marcie discover karma.

Let this be a lesson to all: trix are for kids.

Like I said, Proverbs 16:18. “Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall”. One of the rare times Patty comes out ahead of Marcie

Marcie needn’t worry too much. Her good past history and natural attrition will allow her some leeway on the book report. I’d have to give her a ladylike C with the proviso that she presents a report next week.

Bad company corrupts good morals.

I know people who are like this: always a critic, never a doer.

In a sophomore high school English class I taught about thirty-five years ago, three or four of the lazy boys paid one of their peers to do their essay for them. Why they would choose that particular shmoe I did not understand. I graded the essays based entirely on the merits of the paper. One “D” and three “D-”s. And the goof that did their work got an “F” because he didn’t do his own at all. They’d rewritten the work in their own writing, so I didn’t know for sure they’d done that until they all started complaining to their ghost writer in class after getting their grades.

Wow, PP’s nose is literally up. How fast she changed ;)

You’ll find Marcie under the bus, right where PP threw her.

PP’s actually going to get a higher grade than Marcie.

Oh no Marcie! Let this be a valuable lesson to take care off your own need first before trying to help others. Like a parent putting in their O2 mask on before putting on their childs during an airplane emergency.

From reading the side of a cereal box as a kid, I learned both what thiamine is AND what ingredients are!

when you try to help someone who doesn’t want help OR didn’t ask for help, this can be one of the easiest “punishments” for “trying to help” you can receive. a busted nose or a black eye can also be a result. js

The Count thinks Marcie is about to become a Cereal Killer.

The teacher will understand that being Peppermint Patty’s friend can make you dizzy and forgetful

The irony’s so strong, you could make a sword out of it.

That’s cruel, Patty.

I hate to say it, Marcie, but she’s right. Worry about what you’re doing, not what others are doing.

Aren’t these oral book reports? PP didn’t hand in anything written, as far as I can tell. So why can’t Marci, who reads lots of books, just summarize one of them for her own report? I’m sure she reads more than just school books.
