There is nothing social about the media. Sound bites generate revenues. The media outlets look only for topics that enrage. Full stories cost money. The reporters rarely fact check. Negative sells.
OK, like Willywise says, tell us your good news folks. Like, it’s a wonderful morning, my lower back pain is gone, the lawn has never looked greener, I slept in, but still got the garbage out before the truck arrived, etc.
I subscribe to CNN’s Good Stuff newsletter. It’s delivered to my inbox every Saturday morning. I save it and look at it on Monday, to give what I call MoanDay, a bit of joy.
Good things rarely sell newspapers or generate news time on media networks. Lots of good things do happen around the world and there is probably a market for it but they are fearful of tried and true formula….
Indeed, there are a lot of good things in the world, wonderful things, beautiful things, heartwarming things. You can find them all around if you look for them. Better yet, strive to be such a thing. Be excellent!

If a country’s population is falling, that is a good thing, but the media makes it sound like a bad thing.

It’s amazing how much happier a person’s life can be if the either ignore the news or watch it very sparingly.

Pretty profound. More fear, more people glued to devices, sell more ads. Maybe people will wake up.

You know what the media says, “If it bleeds, it leads”. Bad news sells. That’s why I read comic pages instead of news pages.

There’s no maybe about it. I stopped watching the news ages ago and I’ve never been happier.

This is why I don’t watch the news. Another reason: because it’s dumb.
I have heard that the thumbs-up emoji is offensive. I think that’s absolutely idiotic.

Why not work at fixing the news, instead of fixating on those who report the news?
