Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for July 28, 2013
Transcript:
My unicorn in summer takes me everywhere I do. The normal placed, plus the ones a unicorn would know. Phoebe: Say when! I'll pack a lunch, 'cause I have a taste that;s pickier than she, She'll forage in the forest greens, with salt (to taste) from me. My unicorn in summer runs like lightening down the shore, and even when it wears her out, I laugh and beg for more! It isn't just that going is tons and tons of fun, it's more about when unicorn and rider become one. The days are long, but the night must come and wither me to bed. My friend will offer me her mane to rest my weary head. Her hoofbeats are the lullaby that carries me to when My unicorn and I are gonna do it all again.

Reminds me of my own unicorn. I cannot see his horn, but he must have one, because he keeps poking me with it.

We can only hope that Marigold doesn’t look down in that last panel…or Phoebe’s gonna be spending the rest of the night in the middle of that river

From all the comments, it sounds like the strip was fabulous. Too bad the font is so blurry that I cannot read it. Maybe someone could transcribe it for me, please?

What a beautiful strip today. Evokes so many memories of summer and youth. The summer morning I took a horse named Breezer out onto the forest trail and he took me for the most beautiful ride of my young, horse-crazy life. Thank you, Breezer, and happy trails.

This is lovely, but the lettering is awfully hard to read. I suggest a more squat, “squarish” font.
