Highly unlikely. Sol isn’t an exploding type star. The mass/density is wrong. Instead it’ll just slowly spread out until the earth is enveloped. The estimated time table for this is five billion years.
Here’s another one that will make you think. Vasily Arkhipov was a Soviet navy officer who was the second in command of a B-59 submarine equipped with nuclear weapons at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis. When the ships commander was told to launch the entire nuclear arsenal onboard, Arkhipov refused to authorize the attack, after realizing that the launch from the US was an error in their system.
If he wasn’t on that submarine, the United States and Russia would be a big, grey spot on the globe.
I heard the instability preceding the unlikely explosion or the slow motion expansion will trigger massive gas discharges that will strip off our atmosphere in seconds well beforehand, so nothing on Earth will be be around to see the final bow.
Also, if the sun became a black hole, the orbits of the planets wouldn’t change, because it would still have the same mass. The real problem would be the Earth becoming a frozen death ball.
Phoebe, you need to get a reality check; listen to Monty Python’s Universe song from The Meaning of Life (only that portion of the film, other parts are not suitable for young children)

When you wish upon a star, that star is dead. Just like your dreams.

Humans need salt in their system to survive. However, the two elements that make it, sodium and chloride, are both poisonous by themselves.

Slightly longer at night, as you have to wait for the expiring sunlight to bounce off the Moon.

I used to know a person that, when asked “What’s new”, would reply “Gallium Arsenide”. Of course, that was some time ago…

You’ve got Earth between you and the Sun, Phoebe. Maybe you’ll be all right. Unless the explosion rips Earth’s atmosphere away…
