This strip got me to thinking about adult children and their aging parents. Roles can become reversed. I recall a speaker at a conference saying that there can come a time when “mother becomes daughter and daughter becomes mother”. Same with sons and their dads—“father becomes son and son becomes father.” Think about that…and I bet you will understand the dynamics of those role reversals…

Opal does “bark” entirely too much lately! And snarl, and growl, and whine…

But in Opal’s case, her barking usually leads to growling…

Both the dog and my wife bark at me – and I have to get my own slippers!

In my house, I’d bark at the dog and my husband would get his own damned slippers!

Earl is in the park without Roscoe? What is Roscoe doing? Nothing bad! He’s a good dog! : )

So true. But in the case, so rewarding too. My Dad had a very peaceful passing at 97. Was more cognitive than I was. RIP seven years ago. I turn 75 next year.

More snark than bark, and the occasional bowl of pudding dumped on your head.
