My Miniature Schnauzer and Yorkie both loved massages. From head, ears, joints, back, down to their paws. It relaxed them into little puddles of happy.

something to be said for online comics—-in the newspaper this morning, this strip was too small to see the goofy expression on

Roscoe’s face which , to me, made it far funnier

I had a cat who would give me a massage. I could balance her on my back and tilt around to direct her kneading to different places. Had to wear a thick shirt, though. :)

Massaging your dog can be very useful. You can be looking for fleas and ticks, or any little bumps or wounds that might need a vet’s attention.

I have a dog massage book and have yet to read it. I am too busy giving my dog butt scratches (anyone with a dog knows what that is) and belly rubs and scratches in all the other favorite places, like top of head, around ears – sometimes she sees me walk by and just flops on her side, in hope of more. When she is shedding, lots of scratching helps, too. As a therapy dog, she has to be used to being touched by anyone, and we have never had a problem. If I lean over when I am walking her to give her a pet, she leans in.

A dog will truly melt in your hands if itch behind the ears, slowly work your way around to the front of the ears and then gradually, lightly moving your fingers in a circular motion, where what we consider our temples (and that general area).

I am a massage therapist and have always massaged all my pets. All of them loved it. My human clients leave feeling “massage drunk”. And no, no x-rated happy endings. Like I don’t hear enough of that BS. I help people heal. Am keeping this day’s strip.
