My Daddy was 11 months older than my Mother. Daddy would say for that one month they were the same age, that he let Mother be boss. As adults, we always thought it was cute, because we knew who was boss all year long! LOL They were married in 1936, so this went back to when women “stayed home and did what they were told”! HA!! I miss them both so much.
An older man was asked why their 50+ year marriage was successful, and he said:“When we got married, we agreed that I got to make all of the big decisions. So far, there haven’t been any.”

Sometimes the “official boss” is just a figurehead.
Unfortunately, as the “official boss”, the figurehead will end up getting or taking the blame for anything that goes wrong.
