I am a good shopper. Our monthly average for groceries for the two of us is well under $200. over the past three years. Long ago I tried Costco but, after three visits I found that they just didn’t have what I wanted at prices I wanted to pay. I asked for and received a refund of my membership dues and have never gone back ( I don’t believe in paying a company for the “privilege” of shopping there).
Even though there is now a Costco in Courtenay we wait until we get a large list and make the 110 KM drive to Nanaimo once a month at most. With it farther away it makes us more disciplined with our consumption and purchasing.
Don’t you have to pay to be able to go into the store? You have to pay in order to pay.
FYI, you need the most exclusive card to be able to schedule a VERY inconvenient time to get overpriced hearing amplifiers (not actually hearing aids).
Costco has items that are much more reasonable prices than any other store. I try to stay focused on my needs.
I save a bundle on items like the Kirkland organic honey, almond butter, fresh fruit, frozen fruit, Ethical bean coffee-$5 less than the other stores, sliced deli meat is less than half what the local store sells it for.
I buy what I can fit in my bike basket and save $$
This reminds me of my dad! He was told to go to Costco for batteries . He’d come home with the batteries . PLUS bagels , a can of peanuts , cereal ,candy (it didn’t help matters that my younger siblings went with him though ;-) )

Bagels at Costco? They’re terrible, as bad as supermarket bagels or Lenders.

That’s why I only go to Costco once every two months.

A few weeks back, I forgot to get ketchup and mustard, when I went to the grocery store.
Since I needed cat food and cat litter, I added the ketchup and mustard to my Amazon order and all four were delivered the next day. :D

Costco is fiendish over their conniving mess. And a good lockpicker only goes when the parking lot is empty. Marketeers, Public Enemy Number One!

How many bagels were they going to get, that would make it worthwhile to get them at Costco ? (I’ve never been in one).
