“It’s all fun and games until somebody gets their eye replaced with a Soothsayer’s stone (forsooth).”

Talk to Ivan, I’m sure he would oblige, especially if Uncle Offal encouraged him! (Anything to help the family business!)

Oh goodness. I almost choked on my coffee when I read, “it makes people uncomfortable as hell.” I just love Granny. Calls it like she sees it.

In high school I had an albino friend who was nearly blind. I’m sure she’d have been happy to have had one eye replaced with a Soothsayer’s Stone.

But when stoking fear remember that there is a fine line between demanding food and asking to get lynched. Although they don’t desperately need food at moment, that past quote is still a very good lesson from Grandma about not overplaying your hand.

The opposite of “A Christmas Story” – “You’ll put your eye out” is a promise, not a warning.

I thought that thing in Olwens eye was a “seeing stone” when I first saw it. There are ancient stories from Scotland about seers using them to foretell future events or see things happening far away.
