There are instruction manuals for remotes? I wonder what features I didn’t know they had?

It is. It really is, Brutus. This is the right call. You have actually made the right decision for once.

Just be sure the batteries are in the right way. I use the rechargeable ones in all of mine.

That must have been some crash diet Gladys is on! Yesterday, Gladys stood at least 12 inches taller than her husband and had at least 100 pounds more than him! Today if Brutus were to stand up, he’d be at least 12 inches taller than Gladys.

She’s right, reading is reading. When my brother was a child, my mother couldn’t get him to read anything until he discovered comic books. She was so delighted she even bought them for him. As an adult he became a voracious reader; mostly science and engineering books.

I would’ve thought he was reading the TV Guide. But, the TV manual is the next best thing.

I have more problems following their instructions than I do just using the remote.

A manual like that is going to take way too long to read. I’m pretty sure Wilberforce’s can explain how to use it in under two minutes.

The best part of the instruction book is it tells you which button to push to get what you want. I happened to wear that button out after a while and still couldn’t get it to work. js

An indicator of a decent remote is that some of the button icons have been completely worn off and they still work… ☺

Reading IS reading whatever the material is. Also, knowing the operation of your control unit Is important. I know how to turn my devices off and on,Volume control, and changing channels. I know they do more but I am too lazy to care. Bravo Brutus for delving into that Uncharted Territory that many of us fear and lack the courage to enter. Read on my Captain, read on…..

You mean Brutus has an instruction manual that he can actually read without needing a magnifying glass? Most of the manuals I get nowadays are in minuscule print. My solution is to take a picture of it and then enlarge it either on my phone or computer.

Easy way to find those extra features, let your cat step or sit on the remote.

When I get a new cable box I always have to set up my remote to go with it. It’s not hard but it’s nice to have instructions.

I used to have my remote on my phone. That was convenient, since my child had the same TV and I could turn hers off without anyone knowing it. Or turning the volume down. Eventually it needed an update, and I just didn’t bother, plus she got a new TV.
