I finally got it al together, but I forgot where I put it!

My father’s wisdom showed me the way. My uncle Carlo, whom I adored, gave me my political imprinting. And I will always be grateful to both of them..

Ah, dear old Uncle Ted. You came out of nowhere but it feels like you’ve been here forever.

With age comes wisdom. If only that were true for everyone. For some age makes stupidity more ingrained.

No problemo. Nobody wants to listen anyway.

If only we had this knowledge when we were young.

One point of knowledge you should have known is never wear a red hat with a green coat. You see the color red universally means stop! And the red hat is telling the brain to stop!

If you wore a green hat the message to the brain is GO! GO! GO!

You’re preaching to the choir. I stopped in the middle of the stairs for a moment, then realized, was I going up or down, and why?

So far, I remember it all. Though, sometimes, what I remember isn’t correct.

I’m with Uncle Ted. By the time I figured out all the answers, I forgot the question, besides which, nobody cares to ask me for any advice…

I’ve been blessed with a good memory and also good memories thanks to my dad’s home movies and now the videos I took when our kids were young.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I know how to do it, just don’t ask me how or what I learned to do it. :J

Apparently all my kids “know it all” already……..that’s what they said anyway.

Another advantage age gives is the recognition we don’t know everything and don’t have to. I love Uncle Ted. He’s an island of stability in the sometimes turbulent waves of Brutus’s life.

I’ve been here for decades waiting for wisdom to arrive… hasn’t yet, altho I have learned a good many things to avoid.

An old proverb goes along the lines of.. Learn from the mistakes of others, you will never live long enough to make them all yourself. Or something like that.

“You are old, Father William…”

These two will always take care of each other.

Uncle Ted’s is still a wise man………

The expression, “I’ve forgotten more about a subject than you will ever learn about it,” comes to mind. Life is sort of measured by the experiences one has. Uncle Ted grew up (like we did) during a very interesting time and place in History. We were children of parents who experienced and witnessed, WWI, the Great Depression, WWII, the Holocaust, the Korean War, Viet Nam, the Cultural Revolution of the 60’s, just to name a few. We also witnessed firsthand many great things including the Moon Landing, the fall of the Soviet Union. Yes uncle Ted, you most definitely have many stories to tell ,which could be lessons in life for future generations. Alas, this generation gets most of its information not from a Walter Cronkite, but from a very biased agenda driven if not propaganda news network that seems to work with the government in power. This, indeed, is most definitely a very different time in US History with its conflicting mores (to put it mildly). We could use a lot of your wisdom right now. Alas, few if any would want to listen it seems……

Still wondering when this is gonna happen to Brutus.

The challenge is to figure out how to pass this “Wisdom” on to my Grandkids in a way they would get some use outta it. I remember thinking “Yeah, thank’s for the advice Gramps. Let’s go get some doughnuts!”

Secret to old age and life – the ability to look back and not regret it. Carpe Diem!

I thought the last panel was going to have him say that he had a lot of knowledge, but no one cared to listen to an old person.

Uncle Ted goes on, "that’s why I keep a log of all that wealth of knowledge, it accumulates for dissemination, thus I can give you the advice that you need and use…

i was so smart when i was young, so willing to share my vast knowledge. funny, how much dumber and more reticent i’ve become over the years… ☺

Good judgement/advice comes from experience.

Experience comes from bad advice/judgement.
