As Nicholsen once said,[Bobby wants plain toast, which isn’t on the menu] Bobby: I’d like an omelet, plain, and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast, no mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce. And a cup of coffee. Waitress: A #2, chicken salad sand. Hold the butter, the lettuce, the mayonnaise, and a cup of coffee. Anything else? Bobby: Yeah, now all you have to do is hold the chicken, bring me the toast, give me a check for the chicken salad sandwich, and you haven’t broken any rules. Waitress: You want me to hold the chicken, huh? Bobby: I want you to hold it between your knees.
@Popeyesforearm & Dogsniff:You guys stopped just when it got good.Waitress: You see that sign? (pointing to a sign saying we have the right to refuse service)Bobby: You see this sign? (at which time he clears the table by swiping his arm across it.
Bread pudding (if they are good grains) . I made a turkey stuffing back in the day that everyone loved- made it, and also cooked ribs which were popular-neither appeal to my taste!.I roast whole turkey breast every time I run out (around 6 wks) but only stuff with any fresh herbs I have in garden and leftover carrot, onion etc – all thrown out when I carve it up- very yummy for meals year round.
Popeye- who goes to a restaurant for plain toast? I don’t even go for breakfast unless I really know they will get it right (my IT being an egg over easy with firm white and runny yolk and crisp bacon with not a single soft spot, but not scorched!I prefer my own cooking at home-this assumes “on the road” in which case, I always choose a room with frig and take along my own breakfast bars and some citrus for first thing and yogurt w fruit with the bar. I eat WELL!
