I looked it up, so you don’t have to. Icarus’ flight is one of the most famous Greek myths. The story tells of a young man who attempts to fly too close to the sun with wings made of wax and feathers. The heat from the sun melts the wax and Icarus falls into the sea and drowns.
Since last night was epic full moon that nobody could see between the clouds on the east and the smoke in the west, it will begin waning instead of waxing.
When we purchased our Honda Odyssey minivan, I admit I had misgivings about traveling in a vehicle named for a story in which it took the hero several years to get home.
since space is around -455 degrees F, just steer clear of the sun and you’ll be fine. But since you’ll heat up on reentry, that might pose a bit of a problem…
Bad as prophetically a malfunctioning capsule ‘Calpyso’ — which like its name sake (a nymph that held Ulysses captive for 7 years) has left astronauts stranded for 8 months instead of an 8 day trip.
What would the world be like if Ovid’s account of Icarus was correct – if it did get hotter in the upper atmosphere? What would it mean for global warming?

Are they going to land on the sun… At night?

It’s only 93 million miles or 150 million kilometers from the Earth to the Sun. By the time they get there they will have died of old age.

Higher than the birds, I’m flying
Crimson skies of ice and fire
Borne on wings of steel, I have so much to feel
And I will come down no more

Sorry, IMHO, still in bad taste to make pseudo shuttle disaster jokes.
