    If it’s fried, then it’s not really mush anymore, is it. Try renaming it to mush cakes, or crunchy mush.

    It’s been so long since I was allowed to eat fried mush that I’d forgotten it existed.   I don’t even have a suitable mold to chill the mush in.

    Mom used the solid-block ice tray that came with her electric refrigerator.   (This was also used for making ice cream.)   Filled half full, the ice tray made slices about the size and shape of Spam.   (Which we hadn’t heard of at the time.   Or at least I hadn’t.)
