Pope Francis did that with the former Mayor of Rome only 3 weeks ago after is tour in Usa legitimating his resignation, maybe because he was against the continue Vatican’s interference with the Mayor’s decions about gay and lesbian rights

yeah. Give them money, all they need & want. You go broke & they’re like domesticated animals, unable to fend for themselves. just what the Pope wants.

The poor have more than we do . They get section 8 housing, food stamps, utility help, & because of the pen of executive fiat, are also no longer required to look for a job. They have everything they need to lead a modest, yet comfortable life without having to work. Which we pay for & are reviled because we are struggling to stay in the middle class. I see the pope as an enabler. And, with the "global " elites treating us like cattle, destroying national sovereignty everywhere, the pope lauds this?

No, that’s the cost of following socialist policies for generations – everyone becomes much poorer, and it is impossible to find the resources to care for the poorest.

Helping those who cannot fend for themselves, whether temporarily or permanantly, is the reason for living in a civilized society. Those of you that would kick your grandmother (or crippled child or whatever) out to the curb are not allowed to call yourselves “Christian”.

It’s one thing to care for people who cannot fend for themselves. It’s another to care for people who could care for themselves, but refuse to. It’s wise to do the former. It’s foolish to do the latter.

The Pope is following his Christian faith. It’s about time a Pope did that! My father was a minister. He always said that if you want to punish people, look to the Old Testament. If you want to be a Christian check the New Testament before doing anything.

Yes, we should care for the poor. Feed them while we assure they are gathering the abilities they need to support themselves.

Transfer payments: the government transfers money to the poor; the poor transfer money to the church; the church transfers money to the Cayman Islands.

Wow! A whole comment section of finks! I’m sure the poor all choose to be poor, and working their fingers to the bone for minimum wage has nothing to do with it.

Teachings which increase poverty impoverish and do not show real care.. The king obviously likes to enrich himself by impoverishing others..It is possible to enrich ourselves by enriching others..It is possible to impoverish people by convincing them their fate lies in the hands of others.“If you are poor, it is because others are robbing you.”“If you are poor, it is because you angered your deity.”“If you are a drug addict, it is the pusher’s fault.”“If you are drunk, it is the bartender’s fault.”“If you are uneducated, it is your teacher’s fault.”.How much care helps? How much care is too little or too much?
