I thought it was going to have something to do with the falling leaves bowing to the king.

One of my comics is about two trees: One says “Spring is here!” The other answers “What a re-leaf”.

Wish our trees were more like the whomping willow in Harry Potter. Soon as the fall colors have faded, shake all leaves off. Only one time raking and cleaning it up and not like it usually is, months of raking, mostly until spring and clogged gutters.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I preferred the tree when it still had brown leaves on it.

(Just a “little bit” of) overkill. (unless not having that tree not produce leaves again next year was part of the goal).

Gives the finger to the Fink — not in a million years will any of us ever bow to thy runt-ness, Fink.

The end of this strip made me sad, because the last panel reminded me of the banyan tree in Lahaina. I’m so glad it’s showing signs of life.

There’s clearly an environmental problem with The Wizard of Id: where does Henry get the energy to generate all those flames?

If he’s being fed on fossil fuels, we should be told, and the whole strip should be making plans to move towards net zero.

Burning leaves causes air pollution or so they say. The smell of burning leaves was as much a part of Fall as migrating water foul, shorter days and the first cup of hot cocoa. Another fond childhood memory the children of today will never experience. Quite sad, actually.
