Your body your choice. I shudder at the way States are stripping women of the rights to control their bodies. Wear what you like, believe what you believe, but do not legislate what women can do with their bodies. Huda’s response was perfect. I do think she needs to understand that history has not been kind to women. We had to fight for the right to wear pants. It’s not her fight, but it was ours. Patience, respect, and education is the key.
the one thing wrong with this strip is that when at home with just family the women can wear anything they want, but this shows her always wearing the burka and Hijab.
I keep reading how the Quran says women should be treated with respect and educated and so forth, so why do today’s Arabic men make women cover themselves as though they were too filthy to behold, kill female teachers and students because they dare to teach and learn and only let them leave the house with a male escort?
Absolutely correct. Women have to start wearing the burqa, burka or hijab at the onset of signs of puberty. It’s the woman fault if men have impure thoughts towards them. It’s always the woman’s fault, so says man’s god. Or actually, just men in seats of power. This is one of the multitude of reasons I’m a non-theist.

Because it’s not you who made the choice.

As long as it’s a choice, I’m cool. When we choose our expressions of faith, they mean something. When forced, they are merely signs of oppression.

Going on three months without new “Yes, I’m Hot.” I’m battling with myself. Leave it on my list and hope? Delete it and risk missing the reboot?

I wonder if the war in Gaza and all the angry accusations flying on both sides has made her reluctant to make any comments.

She was talking about “that thing on your head”. Not asking her to show her body.

We didn’t choose to speak English, but it’s our choice to keep doing it unless we choose to move somewhere else and learn another language.
