The humor content of the strip has declined precipitously, and I say that as a fan. I hope Jimmy is taking us somewhere worthwhile.

Disagree with everything negative written above. This is Peanuts humor, sounding of things real children talk about, and entirely appropriate for an arc about children. A little back-story, and a little character development, foreshadowing a larger role Megan will have in a near-term arc.

What jbmlaw said (except these kids are deeper than Charli, Lucy, et al). And if you don’t like this, look at the bright side – at least it’s not the stupid cat!

I completely agree with jbmlaw. This has been a delightful change of pace, a new set of characters and a promising story line. The strip is approaching it’s 30th year. It’s good to see Mr. Johnson taking us down a new path. Bravo.

It’s Peanuts with a splash of Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine.

(Trust me, that’s a very good thing)

I’m also enjoying the new direction – and looking forward to where this is going next!

funny Meg use to have the same hair color as her mom but as time has gone on it looks quite different more like she is Hispanic. we don’t know much about her dad so maybe she comes by it naturally. foreshadowing perhaps? does keep one wondering though which is good.

For the many of you enjoying the new direction of the strip, enjoy. I’ll probably be taking a new direction myself, outta here.

I just hope he tweaks the way Megan looks. She needs to look more childlike.

Comics don’t always have to be funny “Ha Ha” I enjoy ones that cause an emotion and make me smile, like this one.To each his/her own. That’s whey there are more then one comic strip…

I, for one, am enjoying this storyline. We get to see Gene & ML and Meg has friends her age. And, in a major change of pace, we see some of the goings-on thru Meg’s eyes.

These characters do not seem to be drawn by the same artist. Worried here…
