Some of my best thinking is late at night. Some of my worst as well.

Yeah, thank goodness I need a sleep RX to actually sleep at night, because my nighttime worries are blanked out.

That is only because you put too much importance on (or to) yourself Janis.

You’re one person on a planet with 8 billion people, a planet that is miniscule in a galaxy that is miniscule in a universe that while we have no idea just how large it is, we do know that it’s hundreds (if not more) light years in size.

In 50 years, to your great grandkids (and possibly your grandkids), all you’ll be a is a photo in an album, or on a wall, and they’ll know nothing about you.

The simple fact is that in all this mess life on other planets don’t know we exist and among the 8 billion people on Earth 7,999,999,700 people don’t know you even exist and 7,999,999,900 people couldn’t care less about you nor your decisions.

I’m not sure what Janis has so much to be concerned with, but I do know some people are addicted to trauma and just cannot help themselves but to worry. Regardless of how well they have it, they will find something to worry about because it allows the release of whatever hormone they need to feed this addiction. I truly do feel sorry for those who live their lives in this manner.

Have you decided on your Medicare options yet? Oh, good, let me talk to you about Medicare Advantage plans. Oh, just remembered we need to talk about a reverse mortgage and how do you want to dispose of your body? We have very nice funeral plans at an affordable price….

When you get older, you realize your decisions don’t impact you life as much as when you are younger. I get up every morning, look at my to do list and go for it. My to do list includes short term projects and my long term dreams. My long term dream is to sell my house and ride my RV with my wife and two dogs and see the US and all of my kids, grand children and friends. Somewhere along the way, I am sure I will pass on. I don’t worry about, I want to spend whatever time I have left having fun. So this morning I will cut down shrubs till it gets too hot and then I will go inside and continue on my bedroom remodeling (needed to sell house.) Life isn’t all that complicated. You are born, you work, you enjoy all you can, and you die going to a way much better place. We put God first, family second and then country. Unless of course, you are an atheist I suppose you will die, they will dress you for your funeral and you will have no place to go (with no eternal goal, what is the point of being alive?).

When you’re young, you have the bullheaded self assuredness to commit to decisions. Older, you appreciate options and consequences.

If you are not sure about making a big change, don’t do it yet. You can think about it for 6 months and see how you feel then. That works for their decision about moving. No need to decide right now.

I listen to old Jack Benny shows from an iPod Touch under my pillow. It’s a lot better than what my brain tries to feed me when I’m partially awake in the dark. I have it on a timer so it stops after a while. Music does not work as well to stop those nagging worries.
