What happen to Halloween?

Saw an inflatable 12 ft. Grim Reaper pricetag…$399.00. For some plastic and mostly air ???? And the scariest part is that someone will buy it.

“Going up”, as in untethered and free floating? The bonds don’t seem to be attached.

The Easter Bunny can’t be far behind.

I have seen Christmas in the stores already.

I don’t see anything Thanksgivingy there.

There is a Svengoolie inflatable you could buy (limited edition).

Walmart had full blown Christmas decorations up around these parts two weeks ago.

“Foxtrot” deals with the same theme today. Both made me laugh so hard I choked on my candy corn!

to be honest, today/tomorrow is thanksgiving here in Canada

The 10’ skeletons seem to be the new thing. I see many and some stay up all year. Someone mentioned for what they cost, they need to be up all year to justify the cost.

One of the locals just finished setting up her “Haunted Hallow” yard show. Looks like 50-60 figures, from zombies crawling out of their graves to ghosts hanging from the second story.

Not even Halloween yet and the stores already have a shelf of Christmas stuff.

I think I saw (not quite certain) Valentine’s Day stuff the other day.

Been seeing christmas stuff for over a month already. Bah, humbug

Underdog! I haven’t thought about him in a long time!

Thanksgiving has become the “red-headed stepchild” of holidays. Overlooked and often forgotten altogether.

Home Depot has Plastic Christmas trees up already.

There’s very few Halloween decorations up in my neighborhood, west central FL. Usually there are lots of gruesome decorations up early October. Now everyone is busy cleaning up their yard and piling branches by the street. No flooding at least. Don’t know when we’ll have trash pick up again.

Doesn’t really work here in Canada. It is Thanksiving weekend here!

For some reason I am more drawn to the float on the left.

In Canada, today is Thanksgiving Day. In the USA, Thanksgiving is celebrated in November, after Halloween.

I have a 12 foot inflatable dragon who moves his wings and has glowing red eyes . (On sale) Even tethered, he manages to move to look into our house I call him Smaug

Halloween was so last month.

Up, up, and away with their beautiful, their beautiful balloons.

It kinda shows shows someone age if they’ve drawn an Underdog float! I remember watching that as a very young child. I think Underdog may be even older than Snoopy!

Just Thanksgiving trying to regain some relevance. Typically, once Halloween has come and gone, the Christmas decorations come out….

Thank goodness a certain politician hasn’t thought of campaign inflatables.

Underdog!!!

Underdog? What sort of time loop do Arlo and Janis live in? There hasn’t been an Underdog in the Macy’s parade in 40 years. Seriously, that balloon was discontinued after the 1984 parade. Macy’s gave the balloon an inflation test in 1991 to see whether it could hold helium and fly in the 65th anniversary parade, but it failed the test.

I am fine with someone buying expensive decorations,someone is making a living manufacturering, selling, shipping or some other part of the system to its final user. That is what keeps our economy going. As long as it is not tax payers money being used to buy it.

The skeleton thing has gotten so big (no pun intended) in the last couple of years. Not in my yard or street. What’s next? Giant Chucky dolls?

Anybody seen any manger scenes yet?

Even worse: Christmas always starts being promoted right after Halloween, thereby trampling all over Thanksgiving. It’s as unfair as it would be to start promoting Fourth of July before Memorial Day, or Labor Day before the Fourth of July. Please, One Holiday at a time!

Our next door neighbor to the south (one daughter who is at least in high school) has never really put up Halloween decorations. This year husband and walked out and were shocked to see a seated skeleton – taller than me at 5 ft as he sits – on their lawn. Of course we said how nice it is. First time we went out at night after it was put it – the lights glow red as does the inside of the body – at least it cannot be seen out any of our windows.

Our next door neighbor to the north (2 daughters who are in elementary to maybe start of junior high) had 2 standing tombstones (one now no longer there and the other lying flat). black and purple thin garland on the banisters of their front steps.

Neither have ever done this before.
