Darryl you no longer have a say in this discussion. Time for new carpet.

New decor will eventually lead up to a home renovation (sort of like the synopsis of the Home Free comic).

I have two aunts both of whom had 5 kids each. When their children grew up and moved out they both got living rooms with white furniture.

Leave the old carpet. Paint, Take out old, paint-stained carpet, add NOT wall-to-wall but enough to dress up the room.

Wanda, the implied threat is even worse than a plain-spoken threat, because it’s manipulative and cowardly. Way to show your stripes.

I’m single, I wallpapered the hallway 30+ years ago. It is still there and it will remain till I die!! I have changed the runner though when it wears out.

Get cheap carpet. You’re just going to have to replace it again soon.

Instead of carpeting, put down a waterproof laminate. Easy to clean and lasts longer. You can put down small area rugs that can be washed for “softer” feeling.

    Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Re-Carpet the living room = Happy wife, happy life

    OR

Don’t re-carpet the living room = no sex, & sleeping on the couch.

What’s it going to be Darryl, what’s it going to be?

I wanted to just pull everything up down to the slab and put a big floor drain in the center so I could just hose it down at night.

I personally would hold off on the new carpeting until Week gets older and Hammie is house broke, otherwise you will be getting new carpeting every year.

Rip it all up and go with hardwood floors. We took it one step further for our clowder and went with bamboo with a high tech underfloor of some sort. Carpet of any kind is bad for your pets.

Haha! XD Or maybe instead of recarpeting just have bare floors. It’d be easier to clean.

Agree to the new carpeting, but get it in writing that the other things are not part of the deal and won’t be discussed again for five years. Then hide the document where Wanda can’t find and destroy it.
