It was online years ago. I went to her website and wrote her about how much I loved her work and her boys. Told her I had 3 Bengals that walked on leashes and she wrote me back! I was immediately smitten. My girl waits now across the Rainbow Bridge but the boys are rulers of all they survey. My kitties are adoptees. Their breeder had cancer had to get rid of his cats for chemo. I took his last 3 kittens. It has been wonderful.
How did Georgia manage to pry Elvis out of the tree? Sassy climbs up the center and there’s no way to grab her without trashing everything. I only know she’s in there because the whole tree starts to quiver (with fear I think).
Not sure when I discovered BCN, but was drawn to the watercolor, unique view point, and charming story lines. It is the first thing read in the morning. It wakes me up with a good attitude. Miss the pre-newspaper format, but can always go back to reread and remind me of how wonderful the strip is.

So I read the strips and said ,“This woman understands Cats! These are based on real cats who behave like real cats! Aside from the mic’s, of course…” Been hooked ever since.
Aw heck…I been readin’ this comic since before you was all born… We had to tunnel our way through the snow two or three miles uphill both ways just to get to the internet outpost to read it… And then go to school… Or something like that… I don’t well remember.
I had to get up early this morning for a snack and lo and behold, the foundling had gotten into the tree and was about the same height as Elvis before I could extract him. And of course the other cats and the dogs woke up and everyone had to be fed and the doggies all needed walkies and I never got back to bed. Stupid tree. At least today is a day off and I might be able get in a nap or two and make a dent in my dvr. Stupid tree.
His Majesty and Elvis are one in this, except I can’t get HM out of my parents’ tree. It’s his first Christmas tree and he has helped dad put it up and decorate from start to finish with minimal biting. He has only decided he doesn’t like a couple ornaments dad put on so far.
So is this the Christmas storyline or the Halloween one? (And where’s our Our IX Lives Christmas series? "One million dollars is pocket change to the Taggart sisters!)
Hey DennyWheeler, have you seen Georgia’s latest tweet? She expresses her gratitude to you for coining the term “Tommybaum”! And….she is so happy that Tommybaums are popping up all over and adding a BCN note to so many holiday celebrations. Way to go Orb!
When my mother was young, they still decorated their Christmas tree with lit candles. Her cat Phineas used to sleep in the branches and didn’t burn the house down, not even once!
PS His last name was Ivanovalich. Say it out loud for best effect.

Cue malicious sounds of tree branches being rubbed together.
Trees cackling to Puck: “We’ll get you kitty! Just come outside and you are ours!”
Tree tops suddenly begin swaying and twisting violently. Was it the wind … or something else?

There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas
The trouble with the maples
And they’re quite convinced they’re right
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light
But the oaks can’t help their feelings
If they like the way they’re made
And they wonder why the maples
Can’t be happy in their shade?
There is trouble in the forest
And the creatures all have fled
As the maples scream ‘oppression!’
And the oaks, just shake their heads
So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights
’The oaks are just too greedy
We will make them give us light’
Now there’s no more oak oppression
For they passed a noble law
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet,Axe,And saw
By the Tri-Gods to the North – Geddy Lee / Alex Lifeson / Neil Peart
