Jules doesn’t want to leave the comfort of a certain apartment.

Ah, now this: this is the Jules we have come to know (and in some cases, love).

July 29th—happy Gotcha Day to my late tortie, Peekaboo, who went hitchhiking on this date in 1998. She would have been 24 years old now, and I miss her very much. Today is also the 30th anniversary of a certain surgery which I also celebrate annually because it greatly improved (and most likely saved) my life! Everybody, have a wonderful day!

The July Bug is such a tease.

Encore! He could be there for days!

Ooh, a July Bug on a window screen, one of the most annoying sounds known to humankind. I once had one do that while I was watching that episode of Doctor Who with the giant wasp, made me jump big time. At least Jules appreciates his own performance.

And now, I shall fly out the window, until next year….Ha! Just kidding! Look out cats, people and people kittens!

Could Jules possibly have an ulterior motive here? Is he creating a distraction? And exactly where are the Robber Mice and the People Kittens right this minute?

July Bug is a tease.

Ah, it’s been so long since Lupin’s worn his hat!

July Bug is still easier to get out of that house and far less liable to throw a tantrum than getting Dolt .45 out of the White House.

Starlord had some kind of accident during the night. His back paw is cut and bleeding. My first clue was the blood everywhere. The only thing I can think of is he got into the trash can that holds the crushed soda cans. No blood in there but the majority is around it. He has an emergency vet appointment in about an hour. For now I have him in his carrier to keep him calm and not get anymore blood around the house. Will up date when I get back

A cat would work in some extra grooming. :)

I’ve always enjoyed Jules’ visits. Call me crazy but I’m with team Jules. Though I am glad he seems to know when it’s time to get lost.

Yesterday I was “hearing” Jules’s lines in a very Paul Lynde-ish voice. Today, it’s coming across as more like the guy who played Dr. Bombay.

Jules’ it appears that you are in the “cat-bug” seat (not cat-bird)! If I were you I’d hurry my victory dance and take off….you are over-staying your welcome….just saying.

Panel 3 makes me think of the end of the Boston song:

Ah, ambivalence. It’s a major component of the human condition. Wonder how the Bug feels about being a Symbol.

Fame and the adulation of masses has gone to his head.

Yup, he’d be “helped” out by now.

Suddenly I’m hearing an old commercial.

I’ve had similar very large bugs. One didn’t get out of the way and got squashed though it continued to make noises in the trash for several days. The other just quit making noise shortly after getting caught in a cobweb and then flying down. Well, eventually it did. It did start making noise again.

Adam said, “Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me every day. Now I see you not. I am lonely here, and it is difficult for me to remember how much You love me.”

And God said, “I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of My love for you, so that you will know I love you, even when you cannot see Me. Regardless of how selfish and childish and unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourself.”

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased.

And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam, and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, “But Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and all the good names are taken and I cannot think of a name for this new animal.”

And God said, “Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of My love for you, his name will be a reflection of My own, and you will call him DOG.”

And Dog lived with Adam, was a companion to him, and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was pleased. And Dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that Adam’s guardian angel came to the Lord and said, “Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens like a peacock and he believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility.”

And the Lord said, “I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not worthy of adoration.”

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam. And Cat would not obey Adam.

And when Adam gazed into Cat’s eyes, he was reminded that he was not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility.

And God was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved.

And Cat did not care one way or the other.
