Working gets you out of the house…and builds character!

I do not blame the dad, the only way Dad can relax if Mom and Calvin is not in the house

The office beats spending a day with Calvin.

trying to figure out what possible reason (other than pure mischief) Calvin would have for doing that

so much of the time his curiosity and imagination are misunderstood by his parents, but this just seems like a prank

Besides, Dad—wasting a beautiful day in a stuffy, boring job builds character!

Then again, you have to earn pay to maintain a home life for you and your family.

At this point, Calvin’s mom would have been more than happy to be a childless cat lady.

Dead bugs in the shampoo? Now THIS I’d like to see explained!

Take the day off, go to a park and relax and enjoy the sunny day.

Day off? Well, it IS Sunday!

Have to wait til retirement and the kids are raising their own kids in their own homes. And your wife is visiting her sister to get one of those kind of days.

Reality bites…..

Peace is where you find it. :D

I’m sure when you retire you’ll miss the good old days of work, Dad.

A matter of perspective, in … the Twilight Zone….

Yeah, Dad wanted “a dachshund”, Mom wanted “a sweet little girl”. Like either one wouldn’t have created its own style of chaos.

By the time the average man gets to retire, the kids are out of the house.

At his age, Mom has to realize that Calvin’s antics can only get worse.

Why would you stuff your mom’s shampoo bottle with bugs?!

In the end, peace and quiet wins out over drama

The office is a refuge

Knowing when to retreat is good strategy.

Now the theme song from Hair is running through my mind.

There’s nothing like a wife’s encouragement to go out and get to the office every day!

At least Dad’s not in a windowless cubicle.

For dad, problem easily solved.

On second thought, it’s not so rough working in the office today.

Those first two panels could be a poster by themselves.

His mom has it worse than his dad!!!!

Reality bite

I’m thinking not a soul is going to tell her her hair smells great

Wait for covid, buddy! You will be at home and Calvin will be a teenager…

you should worry when he’s 16 and has a drivers lisecence imagine what he could do while you are bored out of your sockets with covid

It’s rare to see Dad featured to prominently!

You know it!

I can definitely relate to the Dad here. Some days you feel you’d be better off at home, but some days you’d feel being better off at work! (Of course I remember when my neighborhood had no electricity for 81 hours after a fallen tree destroyed a utility pole during a big storm, and I was actually looking forward to going into work those mornings because my workplace still had electricity!)

Dad makes a very fast exit and trip to the office!

“And you may find yourself Calvin’s dad. And you may ask yourself, ’My God, what have I done?!’"

How some men become workaholics.

There! Things are back in perspective now.
