"Story Update: Guard Duck has gotten a job giving etiquette advice on the radio. He has occasionally clashed with station management." Guard Duck: Line three, you're on with G.D. Voice: Hi. We have some friends who come over to our house frequently for dinner. But they never bring wine or anything, and they never reciprocate. Guard Duck: I see. well, one way to handle the situation is to simply tell them how you feel. Another is to mine your walkway. Man: COMMERCIAL BREAK!! Guard Duck: What's wrong with giving them options?

What do you do when you don’t have a walkway?

I like options. I like Li’l Guard Duck. Mines can be hard to come by for the average citizen, but Guard Duck’s thinking is clear, cogent, and to the point. If Management doesn’t like it, …well, Guard Duck could invite them over to his place(“Keep Of the Grass”) for Conflict Resolution, his way….

Guard Duck is the Howard Stern of Ducks.

@Aaron Myhre -Even when you PAY for it (Sirius/XM) you get stuck with the commercial ads. Same ones over and over. And thoughtlessly too. “Free for the next 100 callers” ain’t gonna’ last long when it’s being broadcast from space to the whole country, certainly not for 2-3 weeks. Time to ditch the subscription and fees.

Nope…no teleporting door. To the right of GD looks to be a wing of his sound board/desk….this is also the side we see a door. The mic and the door to the managers office are on the opposite side.

Does this work for relatives as well? Especially since the holidays are around the corner.

Caller: Don’t invite those friends over for dinner anymore. I, for one, do not do dinner parties and really don’t want to go over to other’s homes for dinner. But, to refuse an invitation is rude, too. I prefer to meet at a restaurant. No muss, no fuss & we all choose our own meal.

If you mine your own hallway you couldn’t use it yourself anymore. Is Guard Duck growing up and we can’t call him “Li’l” anymore?

I guess that GD is STILL looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. That seems to be the mentality.

I keep my radio dial on the local college/NPR. Great news and sports, analysis, jazz and blues in the evening…N O COMMERCIALS. Period.
NPR: radio for people who are and have grown up.

It’s time for a little less G.D. and more Crocs.

I like it that Guard Duck gets his own monogrammed chair. It’s probably booby trapped.

Another bad thing about XM, the DJs talk over the music. Might as well listen to regular radio for free if I have to put up with that!
tazz555 about 12 years ago
Mine your walkway is a good option for any situation. Your kid wants to know about sex. Either have the talk or….mine your walkway

I got myself the free version of TapinRadio made by Raimersoft. It has several alternatives, including “Pro” versions which then cost a few dollars. But even the simplest model comes with a huge list of online stations from all over the world, and it is constantly updated. I have only used it to access the Swedish stations I otherwise could get on air as well, as they fill my needs while allowing me to avoid having a radio to fiddle with whenever I get a call on Skype. Now I allow the internet radio to mute while I handle the call with no extra fuss.
There are lots of internet radio apps out there, so I am sure you can find one you like at a price you also like…
